I agree with this. The media, especially, ignorantly thinks that all 4,200 DI basketball players are Zion and are getting screwed. The colleges and universities that make the rules for the NCAA want as level of a playing as possible.

And also, no one is forcing any school to be a member of the NCAA.
There is no doubt that Zion would of made money on his likeness in college. it also looks like he should not of been eligible, because of cheating in the first place. He is making enough money in the NBA. Do we really need to change the system so the elite players will make money sooner?

Howard might of made some money on his likeness last year. I doubt that any other MU player would of made anything worth while.

Basically all this does is get money to players that are going to be NBA rich soon. It is not going to benefit the average player.

wrong? Not so fast my friend. If this wasn't a Marquette basketball recruiting site, I'd request you explain.

Isn't it obvious?  He has "worked for or with a union" even though you declared it was obvious he didn't.  Those of us who know what he does for a living, know your post was going to prove to be a poor one.

To be fair it wasn't him who declared it obvious that he doesn't work for or with a union unless Whitetrash is the same guy

Please show where any media member has said that all college BB players are like Zion.

Otherwise, write it as your own opinion - not as fact.

I guess you haven't followed this story in the media. There are too many stories and comments about the millions of dollars the players are generating for the schools to cite.

I can't remember one about the millions of dollars the schools spend.

Schools are starting to drop sports and conferences are dropping tournaments for a reason.  Not every school is Kentucky nor is every conference the Big 10. There are hundreds of schools in the NCAA providing education to thousands of kids.

There has been considerable talk about, say, all D1 college basketball players benefiting from splitting video-game revenue. Same with football. Just a couple of examples how this will not be only the big earners. But yes, the best and most well-known athletes will benefit most; I personally have no problem with that, just as I have no problem with the best coaches benefiting handsomely.

You typically make some great points but I don't think this is one of them.

Also, this is a recruiting thread so this is the last I'll discuss this topic on this thread.

I appreciate your tone and you make some good points, but we disagree on a few things. And that's OK. I wish you the best.

I do definitely agree with your second point. Like you, I only was responding to others, and I will follow your lead on making this my last post on this topic on this thread.

The NCAA could really help MU's cause by hammering Arizona and Kansas. I won't believe they will.

Obviously tough competition but not having Duke, Kentucky, or UNC in there is nice.

The rest of the top-10 is no real surprise. Feels like hometown Minnesota, local Kansas, and Ohio State are probably the biggest competition. If he did a top-4, those would be my guesses along with Marquette.

The list is rounded out by Baylor, Illinois, Maryland, Arkansas, Arizona, and Virginia.

I'm going to assume the G League Elite program will also be in play.  Brown has all the makings of a future pro.

The point is that the colleges and universities have set up a system that serves 99.9% of the students.
