Is it safe to say at this stage its Mane or nobody else for 2020?

Etienne is supposed to be 50/50 on staying in 2021 or reclassifying to 2020. Have to have a schollie in reserve for him if a reclass happens.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

Quote from: muguru
No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

According to the Illinois insider, the Illinois staff fully expects him to stay in 2021 class apparently. That's their staff though, who knows what other staffs think(or have been told). Maybe MU's staff thinks otherwise.  ;D

Probably has a lot to do with Covid-19.  Why would you reclass to 2020 if there's a decent chance the season/school year will be cut short?  He'd be smart to take as much time as he needs.

Doesn't reduce his age which is what NBA teams care about.

Source: Top-50 junior Mac Etienne will virtually meet with the staffs of UCLA and Iowa today. Illinois’ staff will have him on a virtual meeting tomorrow.

He needs to shut down these zoom meetings and just commit to MU  8-)

From Rivals:

When the Class of 2021 rankings are updated, look for D’Marco Dunn out of Fayetteville (N.C.) Westover to earn a spot after a strong junior season. Dunn helped lead his team to a 30-0 record and averaged 20.4 points and 7.2 rebounds per game along the way. As you might expect, that led to an uptick in his recruitment.

He’s now working with an offer list that includes Clemson, East Carolina, Marquette, Maryland, South Florida, Texas, Vanderbilt, VCU, Wichita State and Xavier among others. Arizona, which is his home state, has also started to show interest in the three-star shooting guard with one of the best jump shots in the 2021 class.

Dunn broke down some of his recent offers and interest.

Arizona: “We are just in the introduction phase. Obviously I know a ton about their program from living in Arizona. I know they always have good guards. I think they want to come out to see me play before they offer me.”

Clemson: “They were one of the first schools to offer me when I came to North Carolina. Coach [Brad] Brownell has a great staff. It’s in the ACC, so it’s a premier program.”

Marquette: “Some of my guys in Arizona have gone there and Markus Howard’s dad actually trained me when I lived out there. That’s a great program as well.”

Maryland: “They told me I can fit in with how their guards. They are a great program honestly. I love the way they let their guards play.”

Vanderbilt: “They are a great program too. My high school coach’s cousin is the head coach. I have a good connection with them too.”

Xavier: “They have a great coaching staff. I have a great connection with those guys. It seems like a great place. They have told me about how they play, who they have coming in, and if I come in that a national championship is a possibility.”

RIVALS' REACTION
The new offers continue to roll in for Dunn and he’s still trying to get a grasp of the recruiting process. Clemson, Vanderbilt and Xavier were among the first schools to jump into the mix during his junior season. Marquette has used connections to its program to wiggle into a good spot early on as well and Maryland has started to come on strong since offering last week. This list will only continue to expand as more coaches become familiar with his game. Dunn maintains he’s wide open to all schools involved in his recruitment and in no rush to make a decision.

Florida just offered 2021’s Kameron Jones. In addition, he completed his second zoom meeting with Marquette’s staff this afternoon.

Rising prospect to keep an eye out for.

Yes, it was their 2020 class.  Back in Nov/Dec they announced they had the #8 2020 recruiting class in the nation.  This was well before most Top 100 kids committed.  They have  steadily moved down ever since, but that doesn't stop their fans from claiming a Top 10 recruiting class ever since.

Not going to try to turn this into a Wisconsin thread, but I do think if you talk to people close to the program, I'd be very surprised if they don't feel like they have 3-4 potential starters down the road in this 2020 class and that all 5 could be rotation players in their careers.  I feel the same about Marquette's 3 man class and add Akanno to that freshman class and it's a very good 4 man group.

I'm one that subscribes to the theory that you have to wait 4-5 years to get a true value of your recruiting classes and I feel there are players on both UW's and MU's 2020 class who will show better than their ranking.

Can’t the same be said for every recruiting class at most any school?
Recruit X maybe a potential starter down the road, and at worst a rotation player.

Even when teams take a flyer on a kid, fans believe that kid will at least be in the rotation someday.

Your right anyone can stat that, but to me it'a about who the poster is making the statement.

For me, Ted's Total Body of Work is impressive and better than the average Poster as I see it.
