Don't think we recruited Blackwell.  We're waiting on Davis and Garcia to decide.
Blackwell did an official with us this summer.

And there have been no signs since that he is any sort of priority......

I'd bet lots of money that he will end up somewhere that isn't MU

He has said for quite some time in press interviews that he is very close with Iowa State coaching staff, and he definitely is their priority ,so anything different from that would be a surprise.

I didn't think Iowa State recruited high school kids 🤔.

They don't.  They just recruit MU players.

Given it is Big East media day in NY,  I imagine that someone from the staff may take a visit out RJ's way. Just a hunch.
Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

This seems to me, Carolina isn't sold on RJ coming there, or sold on him as a player...

This week: North Carolina had an assistant meet with Kerwin Walton on Monday. They've been upping their pursuit over the past few weeks. They love his offensive game.

He's on his OV starting today. They currentLy have three 5 star commitments and still have three 5 stars as top targets in Ziaire Williams, Cade Cunningham and Bryce Thompson.

Roy Williams is wanting to add another PG, a wing and a CG to the class. He wants to go back to a 2 PG offense which has led to natties in the past. If R.J. were to commit, Roy would/ could still potentially add all three other targets since he has a walk-on on scholarship for this season that would also open up.

They'd really like to add R.J. since they see him as a multi year player and guard depth as a freshman given the number of potential OADs in the class.

Mr. Davis Sr has stated he does not want RJ on the bench. That is a big hill for UNC to climb.

Does he think he is going to start at Georgetown, no, not sure he will start at MU either.  Pitt maybe.

If he turns out to be not good enough to start at MU from day 1 I'll be disappointed.

Mr. Sand-Knit

Well we are going to play three guards a ton this year and two of them graduate........

But we will also be returning a redshirt senior in Koby, a redshirt junior in Greg, and a sophomore who was ranked right around where RJ is in Symir.  And we could be going back to a 2 guard lineup as we're bringing in 2 versatile forwards as it is (Oso and Justin), plus we're still in on a 3rd (Dawson), and return a versatile 22 year old junior in Bailey, a senior in Cain, and Theo has the 5 locked down.

He could start, sure.  But I'd be far from disappointed if a 4 star kid going into his senior year of high school who I've seen very little of wasn't starting from day 1 at Marquette.

I agree with this take. Let's see how Symir, Greg and Koby play this season before we assume anything about who should start next season.

Especially if they gel well together. Here's to hoping that's part of our future front court.

MuMark

I think some people are underestimating how fortunate we are to have Justin already in the fold. Really like his skill set and from what I have heard(2nd hand) the staff loves his toughness and work ethic.

Why?  You have a grad senior in McEwen, a junior who redshirted in Elliott and a top 85 recruit this year, it will
not be that easy for him to start, but lots of playing time.  Plus he is maybe 6 ft, those other guards are all bigger and
older and stronger.  You should not be disappointed.

This. I'd hope he's starting as a sophomore and we're pulling a two PG lineup like Roy Williams employs

I'll get this one started for my man Herm.  Local talent in the class of 2037.  Giannis Jr.  Lock him up now Wojo (don't even know if it's a "he" or "she" but that's okay).

Exactly. Will it be disappointing if 4-star Symir Torrence doesn't start this season as a freshman?
