Love this further development thought.

Vegetarians should be shamed for their plant consumption. Or should they?

Seems like they should be praised for trying to fight back.

Apparently the Amish aren't all as staid and boring as popular culture portrays them to be....

Picture this: Two Amish men drinking alcoholic beverages while operating a horse and buggy carrying a 12-pack of Michelob Ultra and outfitted with a giant stereo system.

It's not something you see every day. But the Trumbull County Sheriff's Department in Ohio say that's exactly what they witnessed during a routine patrol in the county's Amish community.

You should offer to bring fresh DNA to the local Amish community. The girl in a burlap sack with a hump-hole cut into it and her dad and uncles watching you.  With a bush that only rocket could appreciate....

And now apparently Michelob too.

So much fun being Amish.

That’s scary. I spend a lot of time on my road bike, and something like that is one of my worst case scenarios.

I just do not get why quarterbacks and baseball pitchers lick their fingers prior to the snap / pitch.

According to this:https://www.quora.com/Why-does-licking-your-finger-to-turn-a-page-or-spitting-on-your-palm-to-grip-an-axe-handle-help-increase-the-friction

The meniscus effect.

Water forms a capillary film around the many small points of contact of the two surfaces and its surface tension adds to the attractive adhesive force between the two sides. For soft materials such as your hand and sheets of paper or plastic, this is significant enough to be a big part of the total normal force and therefore contributes significantly to static friction.
If you think for one second that I am comparing the USA to China you have bumped your hard.

Putting such an obvious euphemism in quotes seems superfluous....

Anyone here take their dog to swimming lessons?

Anyone here even know that they exist before right now?

https://www.nytimes.com/2019/09/19/well/family/does-your-dog-need-swim-lessons.html?action=click&module=MoreInSection&pgtype=Article&region=Footer&contentCollection=Well

Yes. Water rescue dog training programs are quite prevalent and a smart thing to do with people with pools with young kids. My daughter trained her lab in this. Retrieving a safety float on land, the proper way to dive, know who is in the most trouble, finding the stairs or slope to bring the swimmer to safety.

I thought it was crazy too but it is impressive. In fact, I have a video somewhere with the dog at an exhibit at Summerfest. The only problem is when we have her on the boat--every swimmer she sees, she is anxious to jump in and save ;)

I figured there were specific programs for rescue dogs, but I didn’t know anyone could take their dog to one.

And I certainly didn’t think there were more basic programs simply to make sure your dog doesn’t drown, like the ones mentioned in the article.

Kudos to your daughter for getting her dog trained to rescue people.
