I have no idea. I always thought goon had a bad connotation. But a twitter search seems to think it could be a good term like "the man" or something. I was honestly hoping someone else could figure this out as I am clueless.

To give some context, Marcus Sloan is the founder of Shoot2Score an AAU grassroots program based in Houston. Not sure if he has any connection to Grimes. Likely just noticed that Marquette was in on Grimes, Harmon, and picked up a crystal ball pick for Jalen Wilson, all Texas kids.

Has not having NBA players in the same city hurt KU, UK, UNC, Duke, Gonzaga, Michigan State, Wisconsin, and most of the top 25 because they can't scrimmage with a NBA player?  Instead, they tend to do it with their future NBA teammates.

Who's to say the recruit is asking them to come? Seems far more likely to me it is the schools initiating all these visits to show love and interest.
