Markus, Sacar, Ed, and Jayce leaving clears out 75 minutes a game.  Lots of PT available.   And there are always transfers.  My concern is if Karim is publicly given the keys, how does that affect Symir, Greg, Koby and Dexter?

Pretty sure Symir would love playing with a guy like Karim for a year, he'd rack up the assists. Doubt Greg would transfer for his buddy Cain's senior year, and I'm fairly certain Koby being Canadian would help get Mane on board (even if only marginally). Dexter might be a wild card but I would take a year of Mane in a heartbeat in that trade off.

Mane at best is a one year player. Greg, Koby and Dexter have already used a redshirt year, so they are not likely to transfer.

Realistically, I see a starting line up of Koby, Mane, John, Garcia and Bailey. Given that only Cain and Symir are transfer risks and currently they both look pretty happy to me.

How is one "at best" a one year player? edit: Guessing you're referring to the possibility of him committing, and then going pro anyways.

And Koby should be able to take advantage of the grad transfer rule if he's able to graduate in 4 years.  Greg and Dexter make no sense to transfer - but then again, Joey (already used a red shirt) and Sam (sit 1 to play 1) made no sense either.

Why do we expect a guy who is projected to go first round (ESPN / Givony has him at #25) to enroll?

I'm not sure anyone knows what to expect, but Mane has said he plans to go to college.
Also, that ranking seems to be a bit of an outlier. Most other top 100 lists I've seen (The Athleltic, NBA Draft Net)  have Karim outside the top 50. ESPN consensus has him 41.

CE: Why do you feel like it is a limited list? Are schools worried about wasting their time because of the potential NBA path?

KM: That has been a concern but, like I have told all the schools, me, right now, I am just focused on going to college and finishing my season right now, making sure that I grow as a basketball player and as a person. I am just focusing on this year and whenever it comes time to think about all of that, I will think about it.

CE: So, right now, push comes to shove, you're going to college?

KM: Yeah. That is what I am focused on, going to college.

CE: The NBA thing, that is there. Over 20 NBA teams came here to see you today. What is your thought process on that right now?

KM: That is a great opportunity and that is the main goal, but, as of right now, I am about going to college.

CE: What is going to have to push you over the edge to go to the NBA instead of college?

KM: I haven't really thought about it. Academics is really important to me and my family so that is why I am only thinking about going to college right now. If there is an opportunity, then we would have to really think about it, but as of right now, all of my thoughts are about going to college.

Maybe he doesn't, but if he indicates to the staff he is, and publicly says he is, shouldn't you recruit him like he is?

I've read all those, I'm just skeptical because more often than not guys, no matter what they say, end up going pro.  Hope I'm wrong, looks like a great prospect and a great fit for our 2020 class.

If some team guarantees him a first-round pick, he should go pro.

I reserve my excitement for a Realchili83 CB (Certain Bunker) pick.
Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

I think it is the reverse in Mane's case. He thought he was going to go pro so didn't really focus on his recruitment and Maryland lost interest. After talking with folks he found out his shot needs some work so he is now focusing on finding a landing place. He is now trying to convince everyone he is going to college.

Hopefully our excellent shooting track record under Wojo combined with the Markus role opening up, and Wojo's personal DPOY (Mane has said a goal of his is DPOY) win out in the end. This is a super important recruit, difference between potential for good and potential for great next year.
