Symir tweeted "Marquette teammates?" in a video of him and Andre Jackson. Would be a nice get.

Goose my friend, need to get friendly with a VPN. Saves my life when I'm in China for more than a day or two and want Twitter and my Gmail

I agree on the VPN. Drives me crazy missing out on some of the simple things in life.

Yup.  I have PIA and love it, but have heard great things about Nord too.  Well worth the $30/year, or whatever deal you get.

Yes, as well as not pursuing Herro per the Hausers dislike of a "ball hog."

wojo should be taking vigorous notes on how to deal with a "ball hog" from calipari-of all the kentucky games i saw, herro was anything but a "ball hog".  that was coaching.  that is knowing your role on the team and if you step outside of that, you are going to not only have to deal with a dude named calipari first, then the rest of the team.  kind of like going over multiple speed bumps on yer arse, downhill.  it's called negative reinforcement...hopefully without anyone's feelings being bruised though, eyn'a? ::)

Your post to 4ever is apples and oranges, IMO. I do not think any current player should be dictating who is being recruited. As for the current situation, the Hauser's are a big part of the team/program and Wojo should have open door policy for guys to talk freely.

The non recruiting of Herro was based off selfish behavior by the Hauser's. I believe the bitching about Howard was more overall team oriented. They were not the only guys upset over the Howard situation. As my previous post stated, two other key guys were leaving two weeks ago and not because of the Hauser's.

So you believe the non-recruitment of Herro was selfish of the Hausers but the issues that caused their transfer were not selfishly-motivated because some other teammates felt the same way?  Other teammates that decided to stay at Marquette?

Come on....while the situations were different you can't possibly believe selfishness wasn't a motivator in this situation as well. Do we know the Hausers weren't the ones influencing other guys as well?

Look, I wish they were still here and that Wojo managed the situation much better but it sure seems like the Hausers are getting a free pass from some here that they may not deserve.

I said on another post that the Wojo play on Howard had some level of selfish behavior. Also noted, that their feelings were shared by more than one other teammate. With that info, I tend to give a bit more in the gray area. If Wojo created a better system that guys bought into, this probably never happens.

Marquette recruited Herro and offered him. What is this narrative that Wojo didn't recruit him?

Getting a Looney or any of the big three out there now could be a program changing get. Not sure why some on here always look for a reason why something good did/does not happen. To not chase big time recruits in backyard should be a warning sign on coaches cred or program cred.

It is funny, between recruiting and transfer thread, there are several guys that have been pointed out as guys we cannot get because they are going back or to the home school in their area. Yet, we have guys in our backyard and we can get them. To me, that speaks volumes about program and Wojo, the coach.

I agree it could be program changing (also a splash in the water like Ellenson or stone was at Maryland). I by no means am saying we shouldn't go after them. Nor am I looking for some reason we can't get them. I am saying it seems to be a bit extreme to proclaim the program dead if we can't land one as there's plenty of big fish in the sea and not every catch needs to be a program changing recruit.

Regarding the home school thing, I've always questioned the pull of a home private school vs public.

After the UW decommitment, Wojo didn't call.

For those that don't want to read the same rehashed arguments from other threads, can we try to keep this thread about recruiting-related matters. There are some excellent updates/insights in the last few pages, interspersed among a lot of Scoop standard fare.

Looked up Brooks quickly. Seems a taller version of Theo. Also seems to be in a similar situation to Sam: A senior-to-be who would have to sit out one year and then would have one year left.

Interesting. We lose Morrow next season so we will need a second big man. He's good though personally I'd rather fill Morrow's spot with one of the freshman bigs we are pursuing

I'm not a fan of getting a sit-one/play-one big. Both him and John would leave at the same time. That seems problematic.
