Yeah, I was wondering that as well. I find it hard to believe symir would play aau ball this summer if he was planning on coming here this upcoming season.

Is it possible that he signs up for AAU ball and starts playing but then decides to reclassify and leaves the AAU team? Does that kind of thing happen often or sometimes or never?

We lost two forwards and we're adding two guards.

Why would Symir reclassify and play next season? What's the immediate need for another guard?

Don't we need more bigs? Or will Wojo commit to a 3 guard lineup?

We would go 3 guards obviously. Symir would be another ball handler to take the load off Markus

Even w/o Symir, I suspect there will be a 3 guard lineup.

I would love to see this. It would be a souped up better defense version of the 2017 team. Bombs away but can actually get some stops. Really hope he comes this year

Start:
Markus
Koby
Anim
Bailey
Theo

Heavy rotation:
Elliott
Symir
Morrow

Cain for depth & versatility

I'm starting to think that Symir might not reclassify. If he was going in that direction no reason to not have already made the decision public.

Most kids who are committed to a school and plan and joining the program in the summer don't play AAU ball as a defacto senior.

Is Mannion playing AAU ball this spring?

Hopefully I'm wrong.....would love to get him here for the summer trip.

I get the feeling that he will reclassify. Sometimes you have to wrap up the academics before that kind of announcement is made.

Could be effective, EMR, though rebounding would be a challenge.

Of course, first those 8 players all have to be on campus next fall. No doubt, like me, you've seen references on Scoop that the shoe(s) might not be done dropping.

Who knows ... we might field a team of walk-ons next season.

You throw out one-liners about the Herro thing quite often but I haven't figured out what you are actually claiming.

Is it your contention that neither the Hauser boys nor their parents ever approached Wojo or any of the coaches to say they'd rather not play with Herro -- and therefore those who have claimed it happened have been lying all along?

Or is your contention that they did say those things to Wojo/assistants but the coaches should have ignored the Hausers and pursued Herro anyway?

Thanks.

The inference is Wojo didn't recruit Tyler because the Hausers didn't want to play with him (ball hog). Too bad Wojo didn't have the stones to ignore them.

So on the one hand, you criticize Wojo for NOT listening to the Hausers about ball hog Markus. But on the other hand, you criticize Wojo FOR listening to the Hausers about ball hog Herro.

Those are two interesting hands.

No kidding. It's almost as though he types the first thought that enters his head without bothering to remember if that thought is at all consistent with prior thoughts.

From what I heard, no more shoes to drop. Sounds like two possible transfers have decided to stay on board. I guess that it could change, but unlikely from what I heard.

I'm relieved to hear that, Goose. A fellow Scooper had sent me a very pessimistic PM not all that long ago.

Your post to 4ever is apples and oranges, IMO. I do not think any current player should be dictating who is being recruited. As for the current situation, the Hauser's are a big part of the team/program and Wojo should have open door policy for guys to talk freely.

The non recruiting of Herro was based off selfish behavior by the Hauser's. I believe the bitching about Howard was more overall team oriented. They were not the only guys upset over the Howard situation. As my previous post stated, two other key guys were leaving two weeks ago and not because of the Hauser's.

I am over in China and trying to keep up on the overall situation, but feel confident that the rest of guys stick around. That said, it is possible that someone knows better than I do.

Well, apparently so in the Herro case but apparently not in the Markus case.

I don't want to get into the kind of wheels-spinning argument for the sake of arguing that some Scoopers seem to live for (not talking about you, Doc), so now that I know where you're going with your Herro-related quips, I'll leave this alone for now. Have a good one.

We will agree to disagree about the apples-to-oranges part.

But it is nice to hear one of the fervent anti-Wojo crowd admit that the Hausers were selfish little Warriors during their time at MU.

I do wonder what some Scoopers would have said if Wojo had brought in Herro and the Hausers had immediately quit. I then wonder what the follow-up would have been on that months later after Herro went pro, with the screams of "stoopid Wojo lost the Hausers for one year of Herro."

As always, none of this is easy-peasy, cut-and-dried as some folks make it out to be. So much nuance, at least IMHO.

Then, to be consistent, you should be glad the Hausers are gone.

Are you?

Goose

4ever and I both were pissed in the non Herro recruiting. I thought it was a joke and selfish of the boys. Again, Wojo is the coach and another example of poor leadership. I would have had a far different feeling about the Hauser's if they had left/not signed because Wojo recruited Herro.

Nope, disappointed in Wojo and his inability to manage different personalities to work for a common goal.

Surprising since we've heard nobody likes or trusts Wojo.

Maybe it's just those with too much red meat in their diet.
