Except Joey Hauser, who they lost because Bo refused to recruit his brother because they needed a point guard that season and if Sam had only waited until the spring signing period, he would have been offered when a spot opened up...
I mean, OK, maybe he's secretly a serial killer who's pulled the wool over our eyes with his good deeds and smooth jumper - Pakuni (on Markus Howard)

Andy Van Vliet is my favorite Badger of all time.

Two blasts from the past! Davon Dillard and Tory Miller-Stewart, both former Buzz targets, are transferring for their final seasons. Miller-Stewart is grad transfer eligible while Dillard is not. Neither plays a position we need and both had discpline issues so I don't think they will be targets. Dillard was dismissed a few games into this season and Miller-Stewart...well....he bites members of the military.

I do know, Newsie is right on you knowing ball.

I think Dillard's recruitment also extended to the Wojo era.  But yeah, I dont think that's a possibility.

Dillard had known discipline problems in high school.

Per ZFB,
It a surprise but Van Vliet was disGarded from Bucky today, per verbal commits on twitta.

Great fit, think he could really light a fire for this team.

I've heard he brings the heat.

Wow.  Really?  Cause when I first saw this I thought he must have dropped out for a couple years because it didn't seem possible that this guy was still playing.

He was class of 2014, so a Buzz commit before he took off.  Harris must've redshirted a year somewhere along the way if he still has a year of eligibility left.  He did play some minutes as a freshman at K State in 14-15.

What was the story with Harris? I had to look him up and was surprised to learn he was a Buzz Williams commit; I don't remember anything about it. Was he a suspected arsonist? Why all the fire references?

I told everybody he set a girls hair on fire in class which is why he was kicked off the basketball team at his high school and everybody laughed at me and called me a liar. A few weeks later that news turns out to be true and everybody acted shocked.
Retire Terry Rand's jersey!

Harris never (was allowed to) signed his LOI after being suspended his senior season for lighting someones hair on fire or something like that. The decommit news hit April 2014 (post Buzz departure), probably was never coming here anyways, but still seems crazy he was still listed as a MU commit just 4 years ago.

In addition, Shayok is playing next year at Iowa State for his senior season. Hill is still playing for Buzz and has one year left. Pierce transferred to Penn St. and played sparingly this year. Cohen somehow got another year for UW-GB and will finish next year as well. That's all I got for your 2014 recruiting class news.

Marcus92

Thanks for the info on Harris. Not sure how I missed all that. Reminds me of the Noskowiak story. Glad MU wasn't involved in all their drama, and that they both seem to have pulled things together.

Monterale Clark says hi.

In fairness, sometimes you just can't know what a kid you recruit might do. Clark may be an exception to that, given the rep he had by the time he left Milwaukee, but sometimes a kid with a clean background shows up on campus and turns out to be a dirtbag.

dw3dw3dw3

I don't think character things bothered Buzz. He felt that the kids just needed some love and direction in life. I think his heart was in the right place, but yeah its complicated. There's a more structured movement around this now with Marquette/Lovell taking a leadership position around Milwaukee, Oprah was here talking about it,  basically getting to the underlying trauma these kids have had to endure.  You don't set a girls hair on fire if you have a solid family life. If you haven't, I encourage everyone to take the ACE test (couple min) to see where they stand and understand what others have to go through. Lovell shocked everyone in the community when he announced he had a score of 5.

I agree he most certainly did. He recruited some awesome representatives of MU. Many of whom grew up right before our eyes under his tutelage

Thanks.  Hadn't heard that rumor/fact.  Unfortunate that we had to let a borderline 5 star/high 4-star in our own backyard sign with a blue blood, because of apparent bad blood between a few of our players.

I understand the why not, but don't feel we are at a point as a program where the players on the team should be deciding who the coaching staff recruits.  Usually winning cures a lot of frustration and talented players help you win.

Winning depends upon building a team, not putting together the best menagerie of recruiting profiles.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

Quote from: muguru
No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.
