How might not making the NCAA impact our pursuit of these guys that have reopened their recruitment, and of grad transfers? I'm guessing it could notably impact the former, but not so much the latter.

Anybody see the article in MJS yesterday on what we passed up in Herro?  Might be last chance to see this dude and his 33.3 PPG average tonight at NB West against Pewaukee.  But I've heard the joint is sold out.

I wonder if Tyler's post game antics against Pewaukee will cost him the Mr. Basketball award. Things like that usually don't play well with the WIAA, especially in a WIAA tournament setting.

I doubt it affects either. The staff is selling the future, not the present.

I will say, I went to a high school playoff game in MN this past weekend to check out a kid going to Davidson and one going to MN and the crowds were rowdy. I can only imagine what he deals with every game. If the rumors on this board are true then I can understand why they didn't recruit him. However, it would be nice to see him on Marquette squad, sounds like a player.

That's pretty mild. The opposing fans were probably abusing him the entire game and he's still only a 17 year old kid. Not that bad of an overreaction.

Have you listened to high school kids and parents at basketball games? Not that this would apply to Herro but I've heard adults and students alike drop the N word to players so I can definitely see Herro getting frustrated. It's brutal.

Don't care.  Still unacceptable.  I've had a lot of people say some very brutal things to me throughout my life.  I can't control them, I can control myself.

The fact that we have gotten to the point where this is deemed as "mild" shows you the problems we face as a society.

If you've ever seen Herro play you know he brings all of the criticism he gets from fans on himself.  And he'd probably tell you himself that he enjoys that and that it fires him up.  And that was even before he decommitted from UW, which I'm sure made fans even more excited about getting on his case.

He gets what he deserves from opposing fans.  If you're going to act that way on the court, you better be able to handle the reaction you get from it when things don't go your way.
