Ahem ...

Even when murders in the largest cities in red states are removed, overall murder rates in Trump-voting states were 12% higher than Biden-voting states across this 21-year period and were higher in 18 of the 21 years observed.

So a mental case goes into a school and sprays a room full of children with bullets. And the next day a career felon walks into a liquor store and blows away the clerk for the $80 in the register. And he blows the clerk away because he's " angry, hurting, sad and afraid". Interesting that you can conflate these situations. Sounds like you're advocating for more anger management and support group intervention for our " angry, sad, hurting and afraid " stick-up man.
The net result is the same.   The dead body with the bullet holes in it doesn't care about the source.  Lock them up if they survive.

And are you going to prevent those set on commiting mass carnage from doing so? Or is it implied they will just follow the stricter gun laws, hey?

I am in on all of them.   And tax ammo.

While you're at it, tax fentanyl and heroin so we can eradicate those evils, too.

Legalize and regulate, just like every other place that has these problems under control

More people = More Killings. Should we ban intercourse?

So I again ask the question, what do you propose as a viable solution that maintains the rights of legitimate sportsmen and sportswomen but keeps guns out of the hands of people who shouldn't be owning them?

Ultimately, what's the practical solution?

Address the total disregard for law and order in large, urban blue cities, hey?

Says the guy who downplays a violent, cop-crushing coup attempt in a large, blue city and who spent 7 years supporting the twice-impeached, indicted, antisemitic, racist, college-student-bilking, admitted pu$$y-grabber.

Law and order! (Unless I worship  those who ignore the law and foment violent disorder.)

Wrong, I do not support Al Sharpton, Louis Farrakhan, or The Reverend Jesse Jackson, hey?

OK, so I ask you guys again. Rather than complaining about the problem, what should be done about it.

All I can see is tax bullets and blame conservatives for everything.

What should be done about it?

Then why does everyone keep whining about it? Go out and do something about it.

I agreed with your proposals.  I added tax ammo.   Enforcing gun laws on the books is up there.

I don't blame conservatives.   I blame the gun cult that thinks a gun makes you strong, keeps you safe, is responsible for your freedom, and is a right endowed by God.   This mindset leads to the mistaken belief that a gun can help you assuage the anger, pain, hurt, fear, unhappiness you are feeling.    By shooting the humans that you perceive are causing this negative emotion.

I disagree with the notion. That the deaths of some innocents is the price that must be paid to preserve the guns.   Making guns the god is the problem.

So a changed mindset is critical.

I read that approximately 5 million gun owners make their own ammo, so the govt would need to either make that illegal, or tax the hell out of the supplies too.

So, I’d be curious to see this study.  That seems awfully high to me coming from a family of sportsmen and recreational shooters.  The past year I’ve heard a lot of complaints about a lack of ammo being available.  That’s why I ask
