I thought the whole Howard scam was terrible.  Then the pay off came and it worked.

Exactly. As the season unfolded, there were 3 or 4 times that my wife and I looked at each other and said some version of, "This is still a great show, but this Howard stuff is so stupid." And then ...

Love on the Spectrum. Not the best season, but the show is so great.

Maybe my favorite show right now. I absolutely love it, including the new US season. So good.

Getting a sneak peak tomorrow,  of a movie my friend is involved in.

I watched S4E1 of Stranger Things with my daughter last night. They seem to have decided to really lean into the horror genre. We enjoyed it.

The most annoying thing is that the cast really aged during the break between seasons. It's a little off-putting how old they all look and how they're trying to make them look young. You've really got to work fast making a show with a young cast over multiple seasons.* COVID screwed that up.

*Has any series ever handled that as well as the Harry Potter movies?

Essentially film non stop for a decade.

ST S4E2 does not get less freaky.

No, it doesn't.

E3 takes a bit of a break and lays some foundation for what's coming.

S4E4 was an outstanding episode.

Top gun was fun.

Seeing it in true IMAX was awesome

We saw Top Gun: Maverick yesterday. I thought it was good...better than I expected. My wife and daughters also really enjoyed it.

We also finished the first half of Season 4 of Stranger Things this weekend. Also very good.

And, I've now finished S3 of Ozark. Unfortunately, the end of S3E10 had been spoiled for me...damn. I don't recall what I googled, but I saw something that just blurted out the "shocking" turn of events at the end of that episode. On to the final season.

My wife and I really enjoyed Top Gun. We saw last Friday night and it was a great way to kick off a weekend. I had high expectations and did not come away disappointed.

Not as many laughs, mainly because Hank isn't stealing as many scenes, but this season of Barry has been exceptionally good.

The way the last two episodes were written and shot... wow.

TAMU, Knower of Ball

Finally finished off Ozark. I was lukewarm about the ending until the last 5 seconds. That last 5 seconds moved it from lukewarm to satisfying for me. Still a bit disappointed because the show started off so strong that I had high expectations for the ending but overall a very worthwhile 4 seasons.

Hader is a damn good director.

Setting up for a really good finale.

Have you read any of the books?  Are the episodes based on the books, or is it new material?

There is also a Lincoln Lawyer movie (based on the first book) with Matthew McConaughy in the title role, if you haven't seen it.
Have some patience, FFS.

I think I read one of the books years ago, but don't remember it.

Same author, Michael Connelly, as Bosch.  I like Bosch the show better but will watch future seasons of LL.

I second this.  I have an episode and a half to go in the season.

First three episodes of The Boys S3 have been absolutely bonkers. Incredible work by Antony Starr, who plays Homelander. It's also been Butcher's best season so far IMHO.

They found ways to make it even more absurdly gory. Blood and guts and goo everywhere! But it's often so over the top that it's done for laughs or satire.

The concept of the show -- most superheroes are effen a-holes -- is still one of the best ever!

I lasted less than 15 minutes of the 1st episode. I thought it was unwatchable. One of my biggest pet peeves with shows is when the stars try so hard to be too cool for school.

I had the same reaction to Jack Reacher. The leads are basically one dimensional cartoon characters.

Tom and Jerry reruns would be good for you.

All caught up on The Boys, including todays ep.

What a episode. Cannot wait for the back of the season.

It's based on "The Brass Verdict," which is the second Lincoln Lawyer novel.
The show is decent. Pretty much what you'd expect from a David E. Kelley production.
