Here are some comments on the tariffs by David Bahnsen.  If you don't know him, he is a conservative (are there any left?) who supports almost every right of center cause I have ever heard him speak about:

You were lied to.  Period point blank.  You were told tariffs were coming to "even the playing field" and deal with "fairness" - but what was announced is the exact opposite of reciprocity. 

There is a reason we bring principles to a battle, and don't decide to make them up as we go.  I am begging those who still believe in the conservative philosophy to remember what we once believed in.

We can drive economic prosperity for all by removing impediments to growth.  We cannot and will not tax our way (i.e. tariff) to prosperity.

It was all the way back to Friday that Ackman was pleading with countries to immediately call Trump and ask for a deal, i.e., capitulate. Guess the tech-bros didn't let him in on their plan.

As other posters cited, there is no clear end line to the tariff battle. It's like the Vietnam War -- we kept fighting -- for what???

When the governing powers in this country wake up, someone should tell them they were elected to repair the economy. Not destroy it! One can reasonably expect that as more legislators visit with constituents, the majority party will join with the minority party in opposition to economic hari kari.I remain hopeful that should happen around mid-year.
