They gave that to a 97-year-old man because at worst it'll be a decade of free food. Someone as young and vibrant as Topper would be hitting that well for generations to come, and with his Arby's dedication, likely driving them out of business in the process.

I would totally host a Scoop Arby's meet up.  That would only be fun until all the horsey sauce was consumed, then it would turn ugly.  Well, more ugly.

C'mon, people, every couple days you gotta check NM and post a random thought.  We need the page views.

Like .. one time I got kicked out of Bayshore Mall for taking a picture of Santa with my own camera.

Mrs. Hilltopper was like "yes, officer, that's him over there," pointing at me.   >:(

Was a quiet ride home.

Might be Saturday or Monday somewhere else on the globe. Just hop a flight, and Bob's your uncle.

I can do you one better. There's a random attraction down here called "Santa's Wonderland". It's a Christmas themed park in bumblef*ck nowhere Texas. It used to be a nice place to take the family, pay a small fee to get in, take a sleigh ride through the Christmas lights, get your picture with Santa, take a picture in front of the Giant Texas Xmas billboard. It has been discovered in recent years and now in addition to a $40 entry fee, each individual attraction also costs money. Even taking a picture of the giant billboard. They actually have a team of elves stand in front of the billboard and photobomb anyone who takes a picture with their own camera.

The best part of that link. It says closed for the season, and will reopen in May 2019.

WTF. Something called Santasland is closed in winter.

Anyone ever been to Santa Claus, Indiana?  If they're so into Santa, wouldn't the name "North Pole, IN" been a more appropriate name?

Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

"North Pole" just screams strip club.

Also closed until May 2019.

(I was sensing a theme here before I had an epiphany.... Duh! Santa's extraordinarily busy this time of year, not to mention, he's European, which means four months of vacation.)

Why is your Santa white, Benny?  My Santa is multi-cultural.  I'm better than you.

He said European, not (necessarily) white. Olouma Nnamaka is Swedish.

Wait - maybe Olouma is really Santa Claus!

European doesn't mean white. Saint Nicholas was born in Turkey so I presume that's what Benny was getting at.

Also a Saint Nicholas fun fact. He punched a dude spewing heresy at the Council of Nicea. He wasn't always holly and jolly.

Yeah, but did he ever punch a Horse. He needs to step up his game if he wants to get a scholarship from Huggy Bear.

Years ago we were visiting friends living outside of Orlando.  Was forced by Mrs Phuket MU Fan to drive to the Christmas, Fl post office to mail Christmas cards so they would have the "Christmas" postage stamp.  It was very exciting.  ::)

If you are interested in listening to an eclectic collection of Christmas music I recommend the University of Pennsylvania radio station WXPN.  You can stream it at XPN.org.  Scroll down the home page and click on the link to Jingle Jams.
