Plain or mint floss?

I didn't know Charlotte Rae was a Milwaukee native.  I also thought she was already dead.

I had to google Charlotte Rae to know who you were talking about. Needless to say, I didn't know she was a Milwaukee native either....

When you are 50 years old like I am, you remember her from crappy 80s sitcoms from your childhood.

Mint.  Plain is for animals.

I remember her character in Diffrent Strokes mentioning that she was from Wisconsin. I wish I could remember important things as well as I remember crap like that.
Have some patience, FFS.

Regrettably, I remember many of those same sitcoms. I just did not remember the name of the woman who played the character. As soon as I saw a picture, I recognized her.

Cinnamon?

Sure, why not cinnamon.

Reminds me every time I go to the dentist and they ask what flavor paste I want, offering mint or "something else"?

So I ask if they have mushroom or pickle flavor.

Topper's next visit to the dentist:

"Good news! We have the pickle flavored paste you've been asking about!"

Anyone ever buy tires through Tire Rack?

MattyWarrior

Years ago I did and it was a great deal, shipped to a dealership where I had a friend put the tires
on during his lunch hour and I gave him fitey bucks

Benny B

Bought and installed at their warehouse in South Bend.  Best tires and installation ever.

However, I cannot speak to having them shipped and installed locally.

Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

Any idea how much you saved?

That is one big building along the toll road, eh?

Benny B

IIRC, saved $200-250 vs. local tire shops (Tires Plus, NTB, & Waukegan Tire) and around $100 vs. Costco.

Yes to both big building and toll road.  Best thing to happen to South Bend in the last 175 years.

"Hey Chuck, Chuck! It's your cousin Marvin, Marvin Berry! You know that new floss flavor you've been looking for????"
"A Plan? Oh man, I hate plans. That means were gonna have to do stuff. Can't we just have a strategy......or a mission statement."

If you plan to get snow tires, you might consider Discount Tire. You pay a bit more than Tire Rack, but they switch out and rotate the snow and summer tires for no extra charge.

Do people still get snow tires???

I did not too long ago.  Had them shipped to the local Firestone,  installed no problem.  Saved a bunch, dont remember how much.

I just bought a set of 4 tires Saturday and have previously bought 2 sets of snow tires from Tire Rack before they partnered with local installers. Now I could have them shipped to Munro and get them to install however they weren't any cheaper than just buying at Richlonn's locally and they offer a nitrogen fill, lifetime rotation etc. plus I was supporting a local business so I passed on TR this time.

Yes, good experience - local shop installed.  However, when they did it they mentioned they would have price matched, so you might try printing off your tire rack quote and taking it to the installer and see if they'll give you a similar deal straight away.

Yes, and they make a huge difference in Minnesota winters.  You can make do with a good set of all season tires, but I switched to snow tires and noticed the difference immediately.
