Tortilla chips, potato chips, pretzels and such only truly need salt. For additional garnish on tortilla chips, there are plenty of acceptable options, like salsa, guacamole and such. Cool ranch flavoring does not qualify as "and such."

You need to nip this in the bud before your son goes too far down the wrong path. If you don't take action soon, you may rue the lost opportunity as you watch your son drink a wine spritzer or the next iteration of Zima.
