I have heard of parents who have actually sold their house and moved to a one-bedroom condo as a last-ditch way to get rid of their freeloading kids.

I am not sure why this escalated to the state Supreme Court.  He doesn't have any more rights than any other person without a lease.  Just give the kid a 30-day written notice and start eviction procedures after that. If he ignores it, the sheriff escorts him out and puts his crap on the front lawn.  After the scavengers get the good stuff, you call 1-800-got-junk to pick up the rest.
