On another note, Duke now has received commitments from the Top Three ranked players in 2018, giving them four out of the top ten.  Thats the second year in a row they got four players in the top ten.  But getting the first, second and third ranked in one class is ridiculous.  Yes, half will leave for draft, but that is impressive.

More than impressive, they were a long shot for Zion and last year Bagley was not a lock for them.  Hope Wojo bring a little of that recruiting consistency to MU for as long as we have him.

Per Evan Flood, Wojo watched Jalen Johnson yesterday.

Flood said Marquette was watching Jalen Johnson. Wojo was out of state watching a game that included top 2019 and 2020 targets.

You're right, my mistake.

I'm guessing Rocket Watts and Isaiah Jackson were who Wojo was watching.

Only new name that I noticed for us is Harlond Beverly. Class of 2019 combo guard from Detroit. Ranked towards the back end of top 100 by most services. Michigan State is also recruiting him. I forget is it our turn or Michigan State's turn to win a recruiting battle?

Besides being from Detroit, does anybody know if there are any connections between Ike/Greg/Jamal and either Jackson or Beverly? Same high schools or AAU teams? Common coaches at all?

MU: Hank
MSU: Tillman
MU: Elliott

So by the looks of things, it's MSU's turn.

Jackson and Rocket Watts play for the Family AAU that the 3 Marquette freshman also played for.  Beverly started his high school career at Jesuit HS and knows Ike.

Watts and Jackson are also HS teammates.  I recall reading an article last year where Watts called Elliott and Cain his "big brothers."

Wonder how Xavier's feeling about that choice.  He's chained to the bench.

I would take the Rick SLU program right now.

Who'd we get instead of tilman? Cain, eke or Elliot right?

Theoretically no one.  We had an open scholarship this season that was not used, until Joey took it a few days ago.

Elliott was the last of three freshman to commit, but I doubt Tillman choosing Marquette would have changed much there.

Could it have changed Joey's or morrows commitment? Just seems like had he committed it would've been a lot of big men lined up

Potentially.  Maybe Harry too.  I'm not saying I'd rather have Tillman over any of those three.  Just pointing out that he's not playing much. I agree that adding Tillman to the mix of our front court next season would be quite the logjam.  We need a PG, not another PF.

You actually have a degree from Marquette?

Quote from: muguru
No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

He's also a Freshman on a legit F4 & NC contender.

Sure.  I tend to think MSU is a tad overrated, but they're definitely a top 10 team.
