So this article confirms the four in-home visit schools are his final four. Got to say it feels great to have a real shot at a player of this caliber.

DJO's Jaw

Hanging with the big dogs! I love it!

MuMark

And Wojo's pitch is pretty much what most of us thought. " Come be the  final piece".

Interesting that Kansas is the school that seems to be overselling....."come in and be the man"

Hanging with is one thing...Now you gotta close the deal...THAT is how MU will become elite again.

Still feeling quite optimistic. Could go many ways, obviously... but this has never felt like a "crazy long shot" and still doesn't.

I feel the same...something just tells me he really likes MU.

You can't be "the man" at Texas and KU if they have other top guards commit before you!

Seems like Q wants to slow play the process and see where other pieces fall. I think in the end it is going to come down to UK vs MU. Kansas and Texas will be eliminated by virtue of other guards committing. We shall see. Nevertheless, very exciting.

Lennys Tap

Says his relationship with the coach will be the most important thing - and he REALLY seems to like Wojo. I'm with JB - we may not land him but we're not some outlier/longshot.

I hope Wojo has the ice cream truck reserved for the foreseeable future.

At what point is it easier for Wojo to own one instead of having to reserve it?

wadesworld

I stand corrected.  Let's schedule that visit Quentin.  And hopefully the last one.

I'll be in The Woodlands next Tuesday and Wednesday.  What if I drove an ice cream truck around his neighborhood--covered with MU logos of course.

I shudder for the day Wojo runs into a recruiting target who is lactose intolerant.

Someone said earlier that it appears that Quentin Grimes wants to be fussed over and I think this article reinforces that. He's chosen his four based on how hard they've been recruiting him, how much communication he's had with them and, it seems, how much they "butter him up."  It seems that Wojo's done a pretty good job at that, and at providing a clear vision of how the coaching staff can help him get to the next level.  It makes me hopeful that we will continually see Marquette on the final lists of top recruits, and even win a few.

As for Grimes, he might remember that there was a kid who grew up about 15 miles away from him, went to Marquette and has a pretty nice NBA career.  It can't hurt.

Based on his comments, though, Kansas seems a little desperate.  "You HAVE to come here."

I mean, OK, maybe he's secretly a serial killer who's pulled the wool over our eyes with his good deeds and smooth jumper - Pakuni (on Markus Howard)

Popped over to UKscoop, KUscoop, and TUscoop to see what insights they had about Grimes. Both KU and UK think it is down to the two of them. TU doesn't have a single post on it because football.

FWIW, both UK and KU scoop said that the Late Night in the Phog visit that QG was supposedly taking was never actually planned, it was just a possibility. If he did go, it was going to be as an unofficial. Him skipping it is likely not a sign of anything.
