Theo John....2017 big from MN has also been offered and been on campus

So I was on P1 doing a little clean-up and I scrolled down a little for the first time in awhile.  On 8/1/15, MuMark said the above.  Just wanted to give him some props.

Thank you Glow.

I had forgotten how long we had been on him... found this from May 2015.. 2019 doesn't seem that far away in this perspective....

He's nice. Has done well this year playing up a year with Net Gain (who is in the UAA league). Reed Nikko is the center there, and is an interesting prospect (Maple Grove HS). IIRC most of their team are 2016's, but another '17 playing with Wright this year is Ish El-Amin (son of the UCONN great).

In HS ball, Wright's center is fellow-MU target Theo John. Their Champlin Park HS team went undefeated this past year until the championship game - losing to Apple Valley & another MU-target Tre Jones. J.T. Gibson was a quality guard for Champlin Park and moves on to play for MU-killer Omaha... so big year upcoming for Wright.

(Apple Valley / Champlin Park was the 4A - largest schools - Championship game... Sacar and DeLaSalle won the 3A ch'ip just before the AV/CP game)

Good lead guard that can dish or score. Going to be smallish, but continues to demonstrate that his skills and IQ are enough to still place him at a HM.

So I think the chart of pretty close.  Updates appreciated.

going back to page 1 and the mention of Philip Flory.  Has it been mentioned that he ended up at Seton Hall as a preferred walk-on?

I believe so, but still interesting he ended up at a rival after initially accepting a scholarship here.

Sure, but that he ended up in our conference, still high major, a bit surprising. Thought it'd be closer to home, like one of those Josh Gasser deals.

Iowa in control vs. D1 Minnesota. If they win, they'll play around 12:20pm CT tomorrow and it'll likely be streamed.

Excellent run from them.

What was the Josh Gasser deal again?

Came in as a preferred walk on and earned a scholarship. UW seems to get a lot of those. Showalter and Anderson seem to had/have the same setup.

GGGG

I thought Gasser's deal was that he was initially going to have to walk-on, but then could be on scholarship for his last three years.  It turned into a four year scholarship after Diamond Taylor was booted off the team.  The difference between that and Schowalter was that Gasser's deal was clear from the beginning.

Gasser was the only promised scholarship, I believe, but they still get a disproportionate number of preferred walk ons that become scholarship players.

Just expected that somewhere Flory would get that type of opportunity.

Random envelopes full of cash magically showing up in kids lockers has a way of doing that.

Juan Anderson's Mixtape

Gasser was originally offered a 4-for-5. Walk-on for a year and redshirt followed by 4 years on scholarship.  I thought it was Vander Blue's decommitment that opened a spot.

I know you're being sarcastic, but the envelopes of $$ wouldn't be wasted on a Gasser-caliber player.

That's some serious shooting, especially from 3-point range. Me likey!
