Interesting note on Joey Hauser is the lack of Wisconsin basketball being followed by him on twitter. Also, he follows some players but none of the coaches. He is following Marquette and Michigan St accounts, so it isn't a matter of not following any. Might be looking a little hard into but when looking at followers it appeared his dad used a Marquette logo as his picture. Would be strange to have that if his son was committing elsewhere even with Sam still here.
Sam probably has more to do with that

Could we possibly be getting a birthday commitment????

Hate to burst the bubble but that is not Big Daddy. That is a user who changed their name to Paging Big Daddy in hopes of summoning Big Daddy.

PS, it won't work. Everyone knows to summon Big Daddy you must says his name three times to a mirror while downing a tub of Real Chili and having a sink full of Old Milwaukee.

I 'like' Sobelman's.  I 'love' Chili.  If I ever was forced to choose one.  #donedeal (for the Chili, I mean)

Look, I get it.  This is a very difficult decision for a young man as all the options are good.  And he can ask his mom/dad, his brother, his friends, his HS coach but in the end HE has to decide.  I can imagine that's a lot of pressure on a kid.  Let's hope he makes the right one for him.

Keep in mind that the popular belief around here (and nationally) was that Joey was in the bag for  MU. So any movement for Wisconsin seems like momentum.

Agree, but prepare yourself for Chico to dispute your statement and remind you how awesome UW is.

Excited that we are close to Joey's decision to choose to play with his brother and Marcus.  He will be a great member of the Marquette family.  Ring out ahoya.

I think my statement and his statement don't contradict each other. The perception is that we were/are the leader for Joey. That doesn't mean it was/is a reality. Only Joey can answer that.

Agreed. I will say though, that I would take info/predictions from Mark regarding high school players from Wisconsin over any other expert or insider.

Yes.  He has missed a handful of Wisconsin kids, but hard to think of someone better in that state.

Joey actually sounds tired and even a little tortured by the whole process.

In his ND comment, he says he needs to get there to meet some players, but in other comments he indicates that he might make the decision before doing any official visits.

Sounds like a kid who just wants to get it over with ... and I don't blame him. After the initial rush of seeing all the great schools that want to recruit you, I imagine it gets draining to deal with this day after day.

If Wojo gets him, the reaction will be, "Well yeah, they were supposed to get him," but we can see just by Joey's comments that it isn't that easy. Similarly, I do not think it will reflect poorly on Wojo one iota if Joey goes elsewhere - even to hated Wisconsin or ND.

Joey's a kid, and kids make decisions for all kinds of reasons.

The Lens

To me the clear #1 has always been Duke.  Thankfully they have not offered.  Hopefully Wojo's pedigree counts for something. That + his brother + familiarity with the true inside of the program should bode well for us.

They also make many BAD decisions at that age...we all did it.

Getting a full ride to play hoops at MU, MSU, or Wisc...none of those would be a bad decision.

Is getting a full ride to play basketball worth it though if you aren't truly enjoying your experience?? I bet there are thousands of former college BB players that if they were honest would say if they could do it all over again they would not have gone to the school they went to.

Look at how many kids every year transfer...at the time, they obviously thought that was the best place for them. But lo and behold, it turned out not to be, that's why they transferred. That's what I mean by kids make bad decisions at that age all the time. Even if they think it's the right decision, or what they want, a lot of times it isn't, and strangely, they were the ONLY ones that didn't see that at the time.
