He's from Las Vegas and says he wants to be closer to home...

Who knows?

In addition to being on the West Coast, we are also closer to Las Vegas than Durham is  ;)

Correct, he's an outstanding young man. We keep in touch, I texted back and forth with him ( I also know and texted his mom) today after it was announced he was leaving. He was All Academic ACC at Duke, takes school very seriously. He kept a great attitude this year under tough circumstances, was happy my son and I got a chance to see him play at Cameron Indoor this year.

I know for a fact he's going to wind up on the west coast, I'd guess he'll wind up in Tucson (no inside info), with Gonzaga and San Diego State as also contenders.

UCLA or USC

UCLA is an Addidas school, he's going to a Nike school.

Lets get him here

+1000 Of all the kids transfering(not including grad transfers) he'd be the one I want(so far anyway).

I want this quote to serve as a reminder to the vast majority of scoop posters in regards to the MU BB program.

same, this kid has lots of talent

Might mean something, might mean nothing regarding Greg Elliott, but Michigan State has started to recruit Mark Smith, a 6'5" senior guard from downstate Illinois (and this year's Illinois Mr. Basketball).

Almost surprised we haven't reached out at all. He seems to be one of those under-the-radar recruits that is gaining a lot of traction late. Definitely a name to remember for the future.

Schmidt bros seem to think he's always been destined for Illinois. Apparently meeting with new coach Sunday after visit to K State.

Not sure but he is with PGE and as Freeport has mentioned, will be tough sledding for Marquette trying to recruit from them as long as Papa Wilson is at the helm

Michael Porter Jr, the #1 player in the 2017 class, commits to Mizzou....?!?!

Pretty sure that his dad is an assistant there or was an assistant there when he was growing up.
Retire Terry Rand's jersey!

buckchuckler

Unless I am wrong, they just hired his dad, so no surprise there.

He was at Washington with his dad.

Romar got fired

Dad joined Cuonzo Martin at Mizzou

Porter follows his dad.

Close to home.

This has been expected since Romar was canned

Ah. Did not know that.

VegasWarrior77

Heard on the radio this morning that the elder Porter had been an assistant for the Mizzou women's team and has a daughter that plays on the team.
