Yes I was referring to kids asking for a release from a LOI are immediately eligible typically..Not typical transfers. Sorry, should have clarified.

You responded to a comment with regard to Kostas, who has spent a year at Dayton. That said, can't believe Kostas name is still being mentioned around here.

I would take the Rick SLU program right now.

Argument should be wether we want wright n kostas or not.  If the answer is yes i fear for our coaches n program.  Neither will help us be competive in thw BE, they signed with an A10 school for a reason

Name a 2017 or 2018 point guard who you think Marquette has a chance at or one who they have a chance at who is better than Wright.

We're in in some nice 2018 PGs. The Duquesne transfer Mike Lewis looks really intriguing, see my post on previous page which has some freshman year highlight. I have no info that Wojo has reached out, but he seems like a very similar player to Rowsey. Definitely would be nice to have in 2018, and I really hope MU reaches out, if they haven't already. I'd take him over Wright all day long.

Anybody that may have someone on the staffs ear, make sure they know about this kid!!! Lol  ;)

I guess it depends. I'd prefer Ayo Dosunmu, Quentin Grimes, or TJ Moss, because I'd like a bigger combo guard to compliment Howard. But I'm not sure how realistic are chances are with any of them. I'd also really like someone who is two years behind Howard, so I prefer a 2018 to a 2017, unless they want to redshirt.

That said, if you can get Wright, I think you have to take him. Maybe we can convince him to redshirt, especially if it seems to work well for Anim. He's regarded as a good defender, which we need, and certainly has been producing this year. His stock has done nothing but go up in the past year, and letting him and Theo continue together would be an added benefit.

I think its really early for anyone to speculate that we couldnt get a better point guard than a 3 star with a composite rating in the 200s.
In fact it would be a horrible speculation as he would go down as the lowest rated recruit in wojos tenure.
Coming off an ncaa tourney with upcoming playing time available i would bet heavily that wojo can do much much better

Huh. I could've sworn you trashed Luke and JJJ at every chance you got this year. Were they the 2 highest rated recruits on this roster?

He actually signed with a SoCon team.

Some dudes just get looked over for one reason or another, and some guys develop in college.  The teams they sign with originally aren't always a great indicator of the player they will end up being.

All that said, I have pretty minimal interest in McKinley Wright unless we pretty much strike out on the transfer market.

Elliott has stated that it will be between now and the April signing period.  So next couple of weeks.

Hauser has said before his senior season, but I would guess before then.

Answer hasn't changed from last week. He is visiting Michigan State late March/early April. There will be no news until after that visit.

Actually, both wrong. Visit was moved up to this weekend. He was there Friday. Announcement could come any time now. This is from 3/24:

That's what I thought and why I asked.

With Duane's departure our single available '18 scholarship has technically moved from back to '17.  It seems obvious to me that Wojo will either bank at least one or alternatively use it on a one year grad transfer.  But for the moment, the chart is accurate using our historic criterion.  We'll probably know more within 8 weeks.  Stay tuned.

Dis ain't yo father's scholarship rules any more. No need ta bank schollies no more. Easy 'nough ta jettison a dude or give da ole Wojo heave ho. Use and abuse, hey?

Not sure all would agree with that. While one could technically oversign by one to ink Joey, I really don't see Wojo doing that.  I sincerely believe that if Wojo fails to land a grad transfer (and I'm assuming he'll be aggressive in that market), then at least one will remain unused.

Juan Anderson's Mixtape

I would bet Heisy's fortune that Wojo signs at least 2 in the fall. Somehow, someway it will get done.
