Just perusing the Iowa State message board.  There "inside guy" has basically all but flat out guaranteed that Lewis is going to ISU.  Deonte was his host this past weekend.

Which board, I checked out Cyclonefanatic and it's more unintelligible than this place. Dozens of posts with no substance.

Did you just like, call us dumb or something? ;)

I stated this wrong.  They were quoting a tweet from the guy who runs CycloneFanatic.com

Good chance ISU will pick up a 4-star F commit on Tuesday. Learn more about him here from @Stanz51. #Cyclones http://cyclonefanatic.com/2016/08/scouting-report-2017-forward-terrence-lewis/ ...

Lewis to MU west is official.
Bummer.
Next man up.

"Deonte and I talked about Iowa State a lot," Lewis said. "He mentioned to me how organized everything is and how they have academic help for the classes. He has really enjoyed his time at Iowa State."

Sorry to miss him, but we have other good targets.

With the transfer rate what it is today, it's possible Terrence finds his way to Marquette anyway — before next fall, during or after his freshman year, who knows?

I wish Terrence success and the best of luck. Except if we're ever playing against him.

I was under the impression that high school players didn't select Iowa State. Players only transfer there.

West is like a triple A club to Marquette.  I think he knew he wasn't quite good enough to be a Warrior.

We R Final Four

Yeah, we really stuck to them in March when we went deep in the tournament and they were on the sidelines wishing they could be Just like us!

4:59----hoping like hell we get him.....
5:01----he wasn't good nuf for us anyways.

Considering the relative performance of the two programs the last couple of years, that's a pretty dumb statement.

My thought process
Today I expect to sign someone better so no big loss. Next May when we end up with an open scholorship, I sure wish we would of got him.

Spoken like a seasoned high school student

Congratulations to the young man.  Now let's move on to our guys.  I have a sense Wojo and Lewis weren't quite on the same page.

MattyWarrior

Why did we even offer him so late, I never felt there was much interest either way. We need to
get 2 top 100 bigs, we have the guards.

jsglow

We're going to be adding a wing almost certainly.  3 slots left.  Only thing I don't see is a PG in this class.  Our PG group is young.

This guy showed up on the Scoop radar about a week ago. There's a message in that.

Some interesting information on Marquette and local players.

**I went back 15 seasons, and could not find a single MPS alum who played all four years at Marquette.  In fact the only one MU brought in as a freshman is Deonte.  Who is the last MPS alum who has been a four year player at MU?

**Two players from MPS did transfer in and graduate from Marquette - Jackson and Buycks.

**If Duane sticks around he will be the first player from Milwaukee County to start and finish his career with MU since Steve Novak.

Did Buycks graduate?

Truth be told, MU has never really sought out MPS kids.  It certainly has had it's share from the old Metro (Catholic) Conference with most being from St. Cates, Dominican and Marquette High.

I'm guessing Terry Sanders, class of 2004 PF who came to Marquette from Vincent HS after a post grad year at Hargrave Military Academy.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

Quote from: muguru
No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

My thought process:

More proof that Wojo can't recruit. We should fire him yesterday.

I don't believe so, but he's fairly close.

As far as MPS goes... I'm trying to think of any cant-miss guys that came from the City Conference beyond Looney. Seems like most of the guys who became good players stopped at a JUCO first. Deonte had a decent career, but wasn't an elite player.
