WOW! Terrence Lewis will forego official visits & will announce college choice Tues per @WisBBYearbook. That bodes well for in-state school.
Happy that the young man found a good home for his talents. Disappointed he won't be playing for us.

Jamal Cain.....MU in final 4

This prospect is said to have a high motor, which is one of the things I found attractive in Lewis. Hopefully we can make our case. Any 2017 Wing prospect certainly has a real opportunity for minutes at this position.

Is there a MU recruit you have ever not liked?

I would take the Rick SLU program right now.

With Lewis likely off the board, I'm hoping for Tillman, John, and Nwora.

Is there a realistic chance of MU getting Tillman out of the state of Michigan?

Is his Kentucky offer real, or is he option #15 or something?

Don't matta, already has a final 4. Marquette, MSU, Purdue, Florida.

FWIW, he was probably option #15 or something for UK.

I know both Tillman and John have visited MU, has Nwora ever been here?  Where does Cain fit?

Nwora had unofficial visits to Northwestern & Marquette on back to back days in June.

For what it's worth, at the time, he wasn't rated or ranked by 247 at all, now he's 4 star/#138.

Think Nwora visited at the end of June. Would think Cain is the JN backup plan.

IMO, it is a showdown between Izzo and Wojo.    Izzo is Izzo.   But MSU already has a 2018 PF.  Wojo already has Ike Eke for 2017.    Tillman is a different body type (think Big East widebody) and more skilled.    It is hard for anyone around here to say that it WON'T be Sparty, but everyone I have talked to says it isn't decided yet.

I don't think Roy is fully informed.

Wojo has to get one of them, John or Tillman, as they have nothing in the physical department when Fisher leaves.  Losing Nwora and Lewis can be replaced by
other kids, but they need a big badly.

I know that you are just a fan talking and aren't making any threats, real or implied.

And yet, I can't help myself.

Anytime I read a comment that starts with "Wojo has to ... " my immediate response is, "Or what?"

I'm still not clear on what he means by "in state."  He's from IL, so does he mean Illinois?  Or did he mean Marquette, because that's in the state Lewis is from?

MU will be OK with or without the 2 kids I mentioned, but maybe for Wojo and his staff it might be nice to get one for all the hard work they do.   Or What?  how about
getting into the Top 5 of the conference or to show his fellow Dukie alumni he can recruit.  There going to fun and small this year, but the following year they would be even younger and smaller. In recruiting, finishing second does not cut it, might as well finish last as it shows they really did not have a chance with the kid.  Do you want to become DePaul?  I sure like watching when they have a chance to win.

I know there's implied sarcasm here, but here'd be my responses to that...
.
  • ...Or else that's a lot of recruiting effort wasted.
  • ...Or else his team will struggle to hold up in the physical Big East.
  • ...Or else Heldt and Eke will need to accelerate their growth curve.
  • ...Or else they'll have to refocus on guys like Hasahn French, Donnie Tillman, and Jacob Epperson.
  • ...Or else Sacar will need to grow 4 inches, put on 40 pounds, and change positions to center.
  • ...Or else he'll have to look at JUCO (gasp) options.

I think Wojo and Co are doing a very good job recruiting .  Our talent on the roster is solid. The current pipeline of recruits are promosing. Hauser and Howard at going to be quality players. Ike has a high ceiling from here and Bailey will be a more mature freshman when he arrives. It appears as if we are active on many prospects and I am confident more will land in our direction.

I am more concerned with the actual in game coaching. The goal this year is for Wojo to show  he can motivate the team and win games. Lovell gave Wojo the contract extension mulligan so let's see him return the favor by actually performing.

Coaching can be overcome by talent, ask Bill Self and Roy Williams, both are touted to be great coaches, but to me there average at best.  Sure Self wins the conference every year, but with that talent they should have won the big one more often,  Roy,  gets even better talent.  Was Al a great coach or yes he a great
recruiter?  I think recruiting,  he ran a Mickey Mouse offense with great talent, barely let his team run, and the clock at that time was Al's best weapon.  Would have
loved to see there teams in this generation of basketball.

For 2017 we have Haanif, Hauser and Cohen. Assuming we find someone to play the four there is not that much playing time at the wing position in 2017.
