I know that you are just a fan talking and aren't making any threats, real or implied.

And yet, I can't help myself.

Anytime I read a comment that starts with "Wojo has to ... " my immediate response is, "Or what?"

Of course the earth will continue to rotate on it axis regardless. And Wojo won't be sent to his room or be put on some "made for Scoop" hot seat whether he hits or misses with Tillman and/or John. But there is an "or else" or "or what" that hangs over every coach's head - too many misses means too few wins. I think that's what the OP meant.

Is his Kentucky offer real, or is he option #15 or something?

An "offer" in lay man's terms is "this school at some point was actively talking to him." So yes Kentucky was probably intrigued, but its not like he could of said "I commit to Kentucky" and had it happened automatically.

Coaching can be overcome by talent, ask Bill Self and Roy Williams, both are touted to be great coaches, but to me there average at best.  Sure Self wins the conference every year, but with that talent they should have won the big one more often,  Roy,  gets even better talent.  Was Al a great coach or yes he a great
recruiter?  I think recruiting,  he ran a Mickey Mouse offense with great talent, barely let his team run, and the clock at that time was Al's best weapon.  Would have
loved to see there teams in this generation of basketball.

All was a great game coach.  His presence on the court always gave us a 5-7 point edge.

I'm still not clear on what he means by "in state."  He's from IL, so does he mean Illinois?  Or did he mean Marquette, because that's in the state Lewis is from?

Pretty sure he's working on the assumption that a kid who's committing without taking any official visits is likely to pick a schools with which he's already familiar, i.e. the "in state" school (in this case, Marquette).
Of course, Bullseye may have been unaware of the fact Lewis is just returning from an unofficial to Iowa State ... which some here are interpreting to mean he's decided on the Cyclones.
People can read the tea leaves any way they want, really. Doesn't matter. We'll find out tomorrow.

Yes, but his technicals put MU at a 5-7 point deficit.

That's fair, Lenny. And so was brew's post.

And I hope it didn't sound like I was jumping on the OP because his thought was benign.

Just me being a little warped, I guess.

You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

MU will be OK with or without the 2 kids I mentioned, but maybe for Wojo and his staff it might be nice to get one for all the hard work they do.   Or What?  how about
getting into the Top 5 of the conference or to show his fellow Dukie alumni he can recruit.  There going to fun and small this year, but the following year they would be even younger and smaller. In recruiting, finishing second does not cut it, might as well finish last as it shows they really did not have a chance with the kid.  Do you want to become DePaul?  I sure like watching when they have a chance to win.

However bad Marquette has to be for however long it takes to lose you as a fan, might just be worth it.

So you do not like opinions, just be happy with watching the NCAA without MU in it, give me a break.  Most fans want to win, maybe you are happy with status quo,
not sure.  I am not.

It's not your aspirations that turn me off, it's your sence of entitlement.  I feel fortunate to be the fan of a university that has made and continues to make one of the largest financial commitments to its men's basketball program of any school in the country, and that has gone out and secured one of the most accomplished basketball minds in the country under 40, and I'm willing to give the program time to grow into one that year in and year out is one of the coutry's elite without pissing and moaning along the way every time it seems that the decision of an 18 year old kid might not go the way I want it to.

Just perusing the Iowa State message board.  There "inside guy" has basically all but flat out guaranteed that Lewis is going to ISU.  Deonte was his host this past weekend.
