just stumbled upon this snip-it didn't know dunking ain't allowed in 7th grade.  it's not like he violently threw it down

I am guessing it's because the rims aren't break-aways. The rule is probably to protect the baskets from damage.

Yes, he is going to be a sophomore in fall. He has been one of the best in his class since 3rd grade. Always seemed to be a foot taller than everyone, so he dominated. His brother Kaj was "the next big thing"early on too, but around freshman year he started to fall back to the pack and never really improved. He signed with IL-Springfield, which is Division 2.  Nobal is much better. He was never known as a big scorer, but he is a great shot blocker and good rebounder. I have only seen him play AAU ball and he plays with a bunch of solid, quick guards, so he rarely handles the ball in the open court. I saw the link here from his Racine Park games and was impressed with his ball handling in transition. His AAU team is pretty good and he plays very smart (the exact opposite of the way Kostas plays). He knows his role and where to be on the court. An average game for him is probably 14 points, 8 blocks and 15 rebounds. Might be out of our range and more of a blue-blood recruit if he keeps growing and improving at the rate he is going. Would be a great get IMO.

thank you-good analysis as that is exactly what i got from his video-not the 7th grade dunk one.  as for break-away rims-good thought.

i'm wondering if he wasn't aware of the rule or just said to himself wtf?  from the video, it looked like he just threw it down as opposed to doing a "chocolate thunder"  with daddy being in the profession he is, he may have heard more about his dunk after the game ::)

Is there a reason why Marquette isn't trying very hard to get 2017 SF Terrence Lewis from Milwaukee Riverside?

I've heard he's an option, just not necessarily the top one. Though Wojo has a good record so far getting in state talent and Lewis is the best Sconnie left in the class of 2017. Emphasis is definitely on PFs and Cs in 2017 but wouldn't mind adding a wing like Lewis.

He is a solid player IMO, just don't know about his heart/drive. Seen many games where he should take over and he doesn't. His dad is his HS coach and it is all about getting his son the ball. Great offensive player, but settles for too many 3s. Exact opposite of his Riverside teammate Carlos Curtis (2018) who is an absolute junkyard dog. Kid just gets after it. Curtis is only 6'0 -- if he was 6' 5" like Lewis, he would be ranked ahead of Herro.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ml6WpJodjrc

Lewis is coached by Duane's dad in summer, so he has the MU connections. And it's not like Wojo hasn't seen him a ton. Wojo was right under the hoop for Lewis' last hs game last year when they lost an 8-point lead to Marquette High in the last few minutes. Lewis went MIA in the end. The IQ and coaching for that team is just lacking. On paper, that Riverside team should easily be state champs next year and it shouldn't be close, but I just can't see them pulling it off. My gut would tell me Lewis is a plan "B" kind of guy for Wojo. Just my opinion. I know a bunch of guys who love his game.

I like how Lewis has progressed in the last year; love the look (nh)... I think with them the upside is considerable. Question is how likely is it to be realized?

Wouldn't mind staying involved with him for MU.

Anxious to see how he does at NBPA Top 100 Camp this week.
Thanks for ruining summer, Canada.

When the 2017 ESPN top 100 was discussed, it came out that Marquette was in on a few out of state SFs.

You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Marquette just offered 2018 Mac Irvin Fire guard Ayo Dosunmo per Corey Evans.

And apparently Tim Finke as well.

Blessed to receive an offer from Marquette! #GoldenEagles

FWIW, his brother is redshirt sophomore at Illinois and they're from Champaign, so could be at tough get.

Then again, if he's from Champaign, he knows what's going on in the Illinois basketball program, heck the whole Illini athletic department.

Today on the recruiting calendar marked when coaches can directly holla at 2018's.

So, expect to continue to hear a bunch of things across the landscape. Early, but fun times.

Terrence Lewis with a lovely scoring performance in his first game today.. 15p in 21m. 6/12 (1/3) for 54.2% eFG%, 2r, 2s, 0to, 0a.

The other team had Greg Foster Jr., also of WI PGE (but their 16U team.. he could become a name for 2018 still.. there are things to like about him.. and wonder how 2019 A. January may fit into the landscape with respect to Foster).

Foster, McCabe, Herro.. none of them with noteworthy games.

Love this camp! Need to revisit some past years advanced stats vs. college performance this week..
Thanks for ruining summer, Canada.

MU recruit Donnie Tillman (2017) named among top performers at Day 1 of NBA Top 100 camp.

http://www.scout.com/college/basketball/recruiting/story/1679093-nba-camp-top-peformers

Donnie Tillman is a unique player that has elements of both forward positions but there is plenty to like about him with how hard he plays on both ends of the court. He makes a lot of plays in transition out-hustling others down the court, but he’s also become a competent jump shooter as well.

On Defense, Tillman’s size, athleticism and toughness make him a guy who can give multiple positions fits. Whichever coach gets him is likely going to appreciate what he brings to the table with his energy and toughness.

Recruiting: Donnie Tillman listed Boston College, Cal, Iowa State and Marquette as the four schools recruiting him the hardest.

Morgan Park 2018 PG Ayo Dosunmu's offer count is up to Iowa State, Marquette, St. John's, Creighton & Florida State... On the day.
On ESPN 2018 Player Rankings Ayo Dosunmu is ranked as the 12th best PG and 59th in the top 60 rankings.
Also, Tyler Herro who Marquette is recruiting is ranked 46th in the top 60 rankings. Tim Finke is ranked 37th and Joey Hauser is ranked 22nd.

With all of the rankings talk, I just wanted to bring up how many of Buzz's recruits overachieved their rank.

All the big names, maybe with the exception of Vander (close), really shined at MU despite their "recruit ranking".
