So why would a recruiting service come out with their updated rankings just before one of the major camps?

Joey Hauser was around last week hanging with Jabari. He and Herro are skyrocketing in the 2018 rankings.

Anyone have a pulse on any other upcoming visits? Seems like Wojo and staff have a lot on their plates with targeted recruits for 17 and 18.

Herro is on campus today

Awesome to hear. Always be recruiting.
Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

A very long, lean 6-9. (Not surprising for a 9th grader.) Quite possibly still growing. Great reach. Looks like he runs the court well and has a pretty good handle. Runs the break with his head up. Seems to be a willing passer. Doesn't have much of a vertical right now, at least judging by this video. Could be a name we'll hear a lot of over the next 3 years.

He sounds really good.  Can he leave high school early and play at Maqueete now?

Caron Butler is really high on him, says he's a top-5 prospect in his class, though he's probably biased as he runs Butler Elite, which is the travel team Days plays for. Marquette has been in on him for quite awhile. Met him briefly last summer and he spoke warmly of visiting Marquette and really likes Coach Wojo. Well-spoken kid that seems to have a good head on his shoulders and an excellent family. His father is a police officer in Racine. Not sure Butler's assessment will be correct, but Mark Miller has him as the top 2019 player in the state and I have no doubt he earned this offer.

I'm all for Marquette signing this kid. The fact that he starts for his team is impressive, as is his family story. (And, of course, his 6-9 frame.) But I am curious to know how accurate recruiting projections are for high school freshmen. So much can happen in 3 years.

You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

I'd be willing to say not very, even in the top few. I remember JP Tokoto being ranked as the third best player in the country early on. Jamil Wilson I believe was ranked fourth. Both had decent careers, but those early rankings weren't very accurate. I think for the most part, by the time scouts and coaches have seriously watched these guys for 2-3 years, you get a more accurate sense of where they belong. When you see post-sophomore year rankings, those are probably fairly accurate.

Depends on the kid. ESPN has a top 25 out for 2019. Cassius Stanley at #6? I'm good with that.

Terry Armstrong at #18? MU target Matthew Hurt at #22? Both s/b higher.

But all 3 of the above are LEGIT.

I can't speak on Days at this point.

He has many good qualities. Court Vision is highly developed. If this young man grows and gets stronger he could be a monster player. Glad to see we are early on him.

Yeah right, Kostas is still available.

I think open, with Howard's stock rising maybe he influence someone.

People are just starting to catch up. Gonna be awhile before they _really do_, though.

Gotta say.. if I'm a PF type who likes to rebound and defend (not a ton of them, a''ina??), MU this season sure looks like a great opportunity for me.

Nobal made his name at the John Lucas Camp in Texas as an 8th grader; this is where he hit the national scene. Days is extremely raw but oozes upside. His passing / defense are his top skills at this point. Could be an elite defender / shot blocker in the paint. Right now his offense is non existent, but is a total team player and will have much larger role next season with his brother Kaj graduating.

Days will be camping at both MU & Wisconsin this summer

In the way-too-early-given-he-hasn't-even-started-classes-yet category, is he likely to stick around all four years?

We may possibly get some Kostas news in the next day or two. The results of the  May administration of the SAT will be posted on June 15.  Depending on how that goes we may here something. There was also a test in  early June so it may still be a while before we  know for sure.

I just figured in case it was testing, the results are coming through. Hopefully it works out for him.

It would be nice for the kid, but that's not what Mark Miller said the issue was.
