I think the history with his dad ended up backfiring in the end. Sounded like a kid who decided he wanted to chart his own path. Best wishes to him personally but I hope we beat up on him and his teammates on the court line last season.

Too bad we lost him, but it may be correct that he did not want to play where Dad played but wanted his own path. Nothing wrong with that. He seems like a very bright young man, and I hope his decision works out well for him - except when he plays against MU.

I would agree that Shaka knew what his decision was a couple of weeks ago when he started to ramp up recruitment of other players.

There are lots of good players out there, and they all have a lot of options. Best not to get your heart set on any one specific player because you are likely to be disappointed.

I said this in 1993 when we were recruiting Fai, I felt it was stupid bc we'd ruin our chances with his son.
