I think Scoopers need to adjust their expectations to a different recruiting strategy versus the very narrow and focused one under Wojo. Shaka's net is much wider to start (including a new school, league (for Shaka) and Covid. Shaka is a relationship guy

Great developments based on interest so far. Back into Chicago, including Mean Streets. Back into MKE circles. Building on DMC and Virginia network via Team Melo (Morsell, Lewis, Haynes connections). Hasn't lost the Texas interest.

Shaka will lose more because he is in more. But he is also (re)building AAU relationships too.

This is great.  Thank you.

I was honestly curious so I looked, your memory is off. 8/11 have 2022 commits with 2/8 having multiple commits. That being said, you are correct that it is still early in the 2022 recruiting season. If we're still at 0 after the early signing period (November), I'll be a little concerned.

Butler: 1 commit (out of 5 known openings)
UConn: 3 commits (out of 5 known openings)
Creighton: 0 commits (out of 4 known openings)
DePaul: 0 commits (out of 8 known openings)
Georgetown: 1 commit (out of 3 known openings)
Marquette: 0 commits (out of 4 known openings)
Providence: 1 commit (out of 7 known openings)
Seton Hall: 1 commit (out of 6 known openings)
St. Johns: 2 commits (out of 6 known openings)
Villanova: 1 commit (out of 5 known openings)
Xavier: 2 commits (out of 4 known openings)
Thank you.
What I was looking at did not show recruits for Butler, Providence and Seton Hall.

I am pleased with the pace of our new staffs recruiting efforts. Lots of prospects in the pipeline.  As mentioned by others, it is still early in the process.

Seems to be a consistent approach of going after kids who were not on the inner rings of the radar screen, but whose stocks are rising and their talent becoming more visible. I think historically this has been a successful method of recruiting for multiple Marquette coaching regimes and others in The Big East.

New offer, Alassane Amadou. 6'9 forward out of Philly. No profile yet on any of the major recruiting services but in addition to Marquette, Maryland also just offered.

Not Virginia...again!? (I kid).

As many stated, Shaka is going to have to show he can build a winner/improvement for recruiting to get stronger. But he sure as heck is selling relationships well and getting in as early as he can.

We were a little late to the party with him, but did get an official back in late June about a month after the offer.

MU could use a wily vet end rusher to pressure the QB.
