Don't see it happening with Bensley. We just don't seem to do much in New England. Was trying to think of kids who were recruited there - Derrick played in CT and Lazar was at Notre Dame Prep in MA, even though they were both from elsewhere. Any others come to mind?

I'm pretty Dwayne Killings is from New England and recruits pretty heavily in the Northeast for us.

Symir Torrence? From Buffalo & played high school ball in Vermont.

Not that it matters in regard to your point, but he is from Syracuse.

Dwight Burke and Pat Hazel were also from the NE (under Crean).  Buzz didn't really recruit (or get recruits) from the NE (only Wabissa Bede comes to mind - Massachusetts).  Buzz continues to recruit Toronto more than the NE (due to Jamie McNeilly's recruiting backgrounds).

I'd definitely argue Wojo focuses more on the NE (with Dwayne) than prior coaches have (which is a good thing, considering the physical talent that comes out of the region).

Right you are, Brew. Fanned on Sy - Vermont Academy.

That's right, good catch.

Herman Cain

MU has been working the upper tier of NY for a while and was succesful with Sy. The promotion of Jake Presutti, with his personal ties to the area,  to assistant coach is a nice supplement to Coach Killings deep relationships in the region.

Add Ty Taylor, Toddler, The Beast, and Newbill to the list with NE roots.

Taylor is from NJ and Newbill and the Beast are from PA.  Hardly New England.

It's okay, we've decided that anything North of MD and East of Ohio is "New England" now.

By next week New England will include everything East of the Mississippi.

cheebs09

I'd argue they count as Northeast.

2 Miami predictions came in for Bensley Joseph on Rivals

Edit: and 3 others also for Miami on 247

Let's just refer to it as "The Big East New England"

I am going to save this thread for the next time a mid-westerner falls on their fainting couch because of east coast bias.

Am a Midwesterner, one of our kids graduated from CUSE and our last years vacation was in Cape Cod but I have no idea on any of this. With Brown off to Baylor and Bensly apparently off to Miami. Who are the recruits you want. My feeling is Tyrese Hunter and think being close MU is a good match and David Joplin again MU is close distance wise. Which is important these days more than ever imho. Am hearing if Baldwin goes to UWM instead of Duke or somewhere he may try and get David to Join him. Am also hearing GTown and Vandy from Central people. MU has not offered David yet from what I have heard. But have seen David at
MU games and feel MUs school and proximity are the Best for David and same for Tyrese.

Quote from: @Corey EvansFour-star guard Bensley Joseph will make his college decision on Monday at 12pm EST, he tells @Rivals.

Down to a final five: Boston College, Georgetown, Marquette, Miami, and Providence.

Seems like he's trending toward Miami, but there's the timetable. Interesting that Evans lists him as a 4-star, yet the Rivals profile image he used in the tweet shows him as a 3-star. I'm sure he moved up recently, but odd choice to say one and show the other.

In recent years we have not generally been competing for the same recruit with the Badgers .

Interesting that MU and The Badgers are both interested in Mr. Graham. I can see where his skill sets would be an excellent compliment to the existing 2020/21 classes at UW.  Similarly, he would fit in well with our 3 promising freshman bigs. It also appears as if we have significant playing time available.

On the other hand if he does not choose Marquette his loss and it opens up a spot for my Son 🙂. Excuse the Proud Dad moment but Am Proud of him for trying out last year. He played Varsity and Much AAU Ball and can shoot 3s better than anyone on the team. But in all seriousness we just want MU to have fun and WIN!
