Rivals ranked the schools contending for Kendall Brown by their chances of landing him. Marquette in 2nd behind Kansas

Good thing that article wasn't behind a paywall.

Too bad. Would have been a nice addition to the Golden Eagles.

Time to cue the "bag man" comments from some here.  BLM?  You out there?

mumi27

That's tough. Wish him the best though. Baylor seems like a team ready to dominate for the foreseeable future with Drew at the helm

Is this what you're hearing from BadNews? I won't believe anything on Scoop unless it's coming from him.

Uncle Rico

That's disappointing.  At least Kendall Brown actually dunked a basketball in high school

Can't imagine why anyone would question the ethics of Scott Drew or the Baylor athletic department.
Obvious jealousy.

Rivals didn't even have Baylor in his top 5. Worse than the crystal bowel.

The crystal ball is always correct.  Reality is sometimes incorrect.

Yup. Coach and program on the rise. Oh, and with zero smoke.

James Graham III includes Marquette in his Top 9.  Please act accordingly

I watched him play pre covid and to say he's benefitting from no AAU summer is a massive understatement. He has the makings of a solid player, high division 1 measurables, but looked more to be suited as a mid to low major d1 talent.

Duane Wilson Sr. is getting his name out there and doing a fantastic job. I hope he succeeds, but I didn't see him as a high major talent right away.

I just don't understand the attraction to Baylor.  In 17 years, the furthest Drew has taken Baylor is to 2 Elite 8s.  Bizarre.

In 17 years we have 1 Elite 8. And we haven't won an NCAA game in 7 years. So why Baylor shouldn't be able to compete with us puzzles me.

I guess where I was going with this is that Coach Drew has been at Baylor for 17 years & Wojo has been with Marquette for 6 years.  For 17 years, that is not necessarily a track record that would get such an impressive recruiting class.

By my count, 17.

This says a lot about the future of Big 12 basketball with the cloud hovering over Kansas.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

Quote from: muguru
No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Really surprised by this one.  Most places had Kansas and MU in his top 2.  Eric Bossi just did an article about ranking Brown's top 5 in order and Baylor wasn't in it.  Secondarily, he seemed to have a lean to either go to Kansas or come back home by either playing in his "home state" or nearby.

I look at the other programs in his top 10 and I would have understood Arizona, Maryland, Illinois, Ohio State, Virginia more than Baylor.  Good luck to the kid.
