I'm honestly not sure Mane would even start for MSU. I say that in all honesty. Izzo does NOT start freshman. He's not going to play PG for MSU, not with Rocket Watts and AJ Hoggard there. I think he'd be a bench player.

Rocket Watts started over half their games this year.  Ditto Aaron Henry the year before.  The year before that, Jaren Jackson started all but one game - and he was one and done.

If you can play, he will start you.

Mane's waiting for the drop.

I was wondering who would catch that first.  MU82 actually reads links and discerns!

I hope that article is right.   But I doubt it.

If Turner signs, you could forget about Mane.  I think that is how it goes down, not sure about Carton, but I could see his signing as a positive if Turner signs.

I'm not so sure that that is correct. What I've seen says that Turner sees himself as a SG, and a lot of sources say that Mane wants to play the point.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

Quote from: muguru
No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

(our fanbase can't even celebrate an All American properly, instead call him selfish and a cancer)

Please don't perpetuate this myth - one person calling Markus a cancer does not speak for an entire fanbase.

Markus was fantastic on, and off, the court.  I enjoyed his 4 years tremendously.

Do I speak for the entire fanbase?  No.  But, I'd be willing to bet the vast majority share my opinion of Markus.

Article is right. Marquette is the perceived leader, according to every source I've seen on Scoop, anyway.

Problem is the perception is almost assuredly wrong.

The Detroit Free Press is using MUScoop as its recruiting source?

Sheesh! Journalism really has gone down hill.

I agree with your assessment.

I am just saying that it wasn't one person. If you looked at all of our social media posts, there is a reason that Marquette turned off the comments for the last quarter of the season. The amount of "He sucks, teh team would be better without him" in the comments was pretty frequent on FB and Instagram.

Mane said he is interested in how the fanbase treats their players. Just providing data points for that.

Only one mentally disturbed Scooper called him a "cancer." But you were right in your earlier post that many Scoopers have called him some form of "selfish" on the court, though.

And you are right in this post about far too many fans taking out their frustrations on him and his family. It was as shameful as it was idiotic, even if it was just a vocal minority.

All fanbases are like this on social media... The internet is an increasingly toxic place that angry people use for venting. Marquette basketball social media is just a cross section of that

I read Donta Smith was drafted out of a juco by the Hawks #34 overall in 2004
played sparingly for a couple seasons in Atlanta, then D-league, and eventually into a 12+ year overseas career.

When was the last time someone got drafted straight from JUCO?

Kendrick Brown and Qyntel Woods went JUCO to the NBA.

Stirring the pot here - If we were going off highlight videos alone and we didn't know the rank of either player, I would have guessed Osa was more highly regarded than Dawson. This guy has the length and athleticism to be a legit game changing player at the NCAA level. Let's hope he continues to develop into a great player for our program.

Aka its not historically been a good indicator of NBA success if they do find a way there.

I think Dawson is the more college ready, but think Oso has the highest ceiling in this class. If it all comes together for him, he could be phenomenal.

Call it a hunch based only off of seeing limited video and ready player descriptions on this board, but I actually have a feeling that Justin Lewis will become the biggest fan favorite and have the best overall MU career of the three.

It's a really good thing that we have three players that the fanbase has these kinds of expectations for all in the same class. Even if only one has a good/great career and another is a 2/3 year productive starter wojo is off to a good start.

wadesworld

I think all 3 will be very good. And I think Dawson and Lewis can play some small ball 5 if needed. Which is why I don't think Wojo is going as hard after bigs right now as he is guards. We need a difference making guard for next year, and another guard that can contribute.
