A compketely asinine post.  I played a D1 sport and can absolutely guarantee you that every single kid on a  D1 team and prolly even lower considers transferring at many points during their career.  In fact the only kids that might not consider it are kids that come in as Freshman and start and produce and the coaches and fans love them.  If this doesnt happen for a kid i absolutely guarantee you they consider it, and for the kids that that does happen for i guarantee alot of them consider it too.  College athletics, especially D1 is incredibly hard and kids that were stars, everyone of them, are now faced with supreme adversity, no free time, doubt, pressure, lonliness, etc. etc. etc. for the first time.  And are 18-19-20 years old.  99% consider transferring n many consider quitting.  Just because u dont know that doesnt mean it doesnt happen.  Phone calls home, encouragment from friends, family, teammates and coaches, fear of failure and mental toughness get most of them through it.
First, it's cute that you think I need educating on this subject. Second, it's the why behind a good chunk of our team almost transferring, not that they considered it in of itself. And the why could easily be damaging to Wojo's rep and affect future recruits.

Why did they consider transferring (since you seem to know)?

I'm getting the impression that our team,  players and coaches, are the most unified it's been in months.

Because of a couple shirtless team pictures and a contrived kickball game?

Well, wojo and staff were there seeing Morton yesterday. So they were still in on him yesterday.

I'd still put more of a focus on Garcia, Rahim, Dainja, Jackson, Burnett and Sibley right now.

And my friend met with Morton this morning, so he relayed his concerns about the transfers to her after meeting with Wojo.

And I agree, I think the others targets you listed are higher needs, and even if we did make his list, I didn't see him coming to MU, Hausers or no Hausers.  I just wanted to relay the story, as it is a direct example of how current targets might look at this situation.

It feels like a manufactured, over-the-top amount of Twitter/Instagram damage control to try and convince people that things are peachy keen.

Yes, and?   Marquette shouldn't attempt to manage their message?  That's dumb.   They should let the message be defined by naysayers?   Still dumb.

I think it is a PR campaign for the fan base.  Focus on the guys who are here.

Whether Wojo can galvanize the team or not will define his tenure.  I'm anxious to see this play out.

Meh, it's just the usual off-season year-end team building stuff while giving fans something MUBB-related to see while the school year winds down.

I think you vastly overstate the "turmoil" of the program and its "out of control" nature. That's a narrative that's been spun on Scoop, but not at all nationally. Two kids left, and that sucks, but remember it's two kids who were and will be joined at the hip. It's akin to one kid deciding he wanted out, because where one Hauser goes, so goes the other.
I'd likely be more concerned if, say, Joey and Greg both left. And if transfers portend a program in disarray, then  there are a whole lot of programs out there in disarray, because last I checked, some 800 players and counting are transferring this year.
Don't get me wrong - MU would be far better off without the transfers, but what you choose to spin as turmoil, the coaching staff can spin to recruits as opportunity. And the chance to play is far more important to a recruit than the fact some kids transferred.

Wojo practically sat in the O.R. holding Joey's hand during his surgery. This is a big deal and its about losing confidence and trust in your coach that you came here to play for, and not above about some player who got homesick or wants to be near his high school crush.

I think it's worth noting these are largely coming from personal accounts. So it's not Scott Kuykendall arranging this, it's the players themselves. Maybe MU PR is suggesting it, but I lean more towards TAMU's interpretation. The players know what's being said & knows who pays attention to this stuff (largely hacks like us). This feels like a message to the fans that they are on the same page.

And I'm too cynical to buy into it.  Of course they should be the ones to manage their message, I never once suggested they shouldn't.
TAMU said he felt they were "as unified as they've been in months" and I begged to differ.

Because they lost a lot of the trust they had in leadership. Hopefully for those that stayed it can be rebuilt.
