Both were just fine. Junior never lived up to expectations, partially injurys fault. Buycks was about what I expected.

I believe MU is mentioned with at least 12 top 50 players in the 2020 class with 1 commitment so far.Outstanding recruiting.Looking forward to the staff closing the deal on a few others.

The amount of available minutes is sure to be helping Wojo for 2020, along with the on court success. We only have two people leaving (hopefully) this year, Heldt and Chartouny, and have 3 people coming in/back, McEwen, Elliott, and Akanno (possibly Ike but not counting on it), the returning players currently count for 175 out of 200 minutes so not a lot there for next year.

In 2020 with Sam, Marcus, Morrow, and Anim leaving that leaves around 110 minutes a game to make up for. Granted players already on the roster will get more playing time but plenty of opuurtunity to step in and immediately contribute in 2020.

That's fine, but if he declares and isn't drafted then he might as well come back, which the new rules allow him to do.  That or go to Europe, which is there for him whenever.

He could only return next year if he withdraws from the draft, cannot return if he's available but goes undrafted.

That's no longer true. Undrafted players are eligible to return to college if they are invited to and participate in the NBA combine and some sort of advisory evaluation. They changed the eligibility rules last off-season.

I'm so wary of good classes, figure we've had so many top ten or fifteen classes since 09 and each has pretty much been a bust overall except Howard, Hauser and Bailey.

I do think the poster you quoted was less concerned with rankings and more with how the players have performed and fit in our system. A lot of our "good" classes had players that weren't necessarily fits for the system they were in and a lot of that is residual to the person who brought them in.

Not every recruit is going to hit, but getting good players that fit your system usually helps make a good team. I really believe that Strawther is one of those players for our system--same with Symir, Dawson Garcia and Nimari--they all shoot well and seem to bring a well-rounded game and the length and defensive intensity that we could use.
Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

That's true, he's the only one of a very heralded top 10 via espn 12 via 247 class that lived up to the hype of the overall class.

Yeah, I mean I just am trying to get everyone to take a step back and remember big time recruits like Erik Williams and Jamail Jones that flamed out completely. Or Jeronne Maymonn and Jameel McKay that turned out great but not for us. Or Junior, who was solid, but nobody would look at his numbers and say "oh yeah that guy was a huge recruit out of high school". Let alone guys like Malek Harris and Nick Noskowiak who were top recruits and flamed out before even graduating High School (if they ever did). I think the 2013 class's utter lack of success really jaded me.

Buzz vs. Wojo.

Buzz was very good at taking guys who developed under JUCO coaches and got used to the physicality of playing guys who could match their size and athleticism for 2 years and getting them to play hard.  He was by and large absolutely terrible at taking good high school players and developing them into good college players.

Wojo has been great at developing great high school players into good/great college players.  Hence why the success is coming later than many expected.

Not about jet, but for the record, Wade's uniform number is  "#3", which he has previously said was in reference to the Trinity. Don't know if he changed it

If there was pun intended here, job well done.
Wonder what Malek Harris is up to these days.

Not too surprising, but Malek Harris has bounced around.  Played at Kansas State as a freshman, transferred to D-II Kentucky Wesleyan, and then transferred to NAIA LSU-Alexandria, where he's currently a senior.

I'm more curious about Noskowiak - I know he played at two different Juco programs after getting kicked off ISU, but I don't believe he went beyond Juco.  You honestly hope all is well with him.

History proved me wrong? I'm fairly confident there would've been some legal action taken if he had lit a girl's hair on fire, not simply a suspension from the high school basketball team.

He was suspended from school not just basketball. And I've seen kids do much worse than that at my old high school without legal action. Bottom line is you were wrong to act like an a$$ and mock it. Whether it was playing with a burner or intentional he did set a girls hair on fire aka you were wrong.

It would really suck, if Howard was the 60th pick.

When I say something was "set on fire" I'm talking...well, set on fire.  Like if I lit somebody's car on fire the car went up in flames.  If I lit a building on fire the building went up in flames.  If I light someone's hair on fire they're being rushed to the hospital with fifth degree burns.  Charring a single strand of someone's hair is not "lighting a girl's hair on fire" in my definition.

Didn't remember my response to that rumor though.  Literally laughing out loud at that at work.  Pretty good work by me.

That's cool until Howard declares, which I believe he will. Not like he's going to grow 4 inches his senior year.

...but he could improve on his turnovers, and have a degree in his pocket since he's not - like you said - going to grow 4 inches his senior year.

You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

He will declare. Go through the process. But, imo, unless he gets a first round guarantee, he's coming back.
