Watched Desmond Polk play last night. Meh.
Not overly athletic. 7th man. Hit 2 threes.  Given the guards we are after i dont see it.  Team poorly coached.
Isiah Stewart tons of abilty but an absolte non factor in game. Pushed around by smaller players despite looking  like Theo. No post moves, no blocks, few rebounds.  Looks like Tarzan plays like Jane.
Keion Brooks a really nice player very good athlete, great motor.  Again team was so poorly coached that their best offense was chuck up a shot n let Brooks go get it.
Did they play a quality opponent with lots of D1 players?

Apparently Stan has a season ticket to Dainja's high school games this season.....

It is pure beauty when Stan digs in.

Jalen Suggs and Strawther seem to be pretty close and will possibly play together. Suggs a top 10 guard. Both took a visit to Gonzaga recently. Would obviously be a major get.

Good god. Get that pairing. And Dainja. And Garcia. ALL THE RECRUITS.
Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

Yes defending state champs, a number of D1 kids that are a actually well coached and ran a clinic on them on both ends. But still no where near the talent.  Switch coachs n lalumiere wins by 40.

That circumstance somewhat explains  why the La Lumiere kids didn't stand out so much.

Liked this about Ben Steele's interview:

Q. You visited Marquette recently. How did that go?

A. The Marquette visit was a great experience. I ate dinner with the coaches. They had everybody there: the trainers, the academic people. It was kind of cool. They brought Theo John, great guy. I like the whole team a lot, too. I just felt real comfortable when I was at Marquette. I really like the coaches as well. I watched the game where they beat Villanova. That was a great atmosphere. It was kind of cool how they have two student sections. The place was crazy. I hung with the players a little bit and got to see how they were. And they are all super close to each other, close-knit, kind of like a family. So I like that about them as well.

Didn't like this as much:

Q. Do have a general timeline on your decision or a cutdown?

A. Not at the moment. I'm just going to continue to see how everything plays out. And if something feels right along the way, I won't be able to pass it up.

So, did his visit to MU not "feel right" enough? Reading tea leaves is always fun!

So what is he looking for? So to me MU might not be good enough, so an offer for someone else was offered. Very fluid in recruiting.

Many of the top kids  wait and see how things play out over the course of the summer evaluation circuit.  I liked the answers he gave in the interview, clearly he is a thoughtful mature kid. MU has as good a chance as anyone on this prospect.

Or it's the biggest decision of his young life and he wants to make sure he gets it right.......take your pick.

TAMU, Knower of Ball

Family atmosphere of Marquette is definitely a constant theme among recruits. Sounds like the guys all love each other.

I wouldn't read too much into the tea leaves. The "if something feels right" line is a pretty standard line used by a lot of recruits. Doesn't stop them from committing to a school they've already visited months after the visit is over.

I'm not much on reading tea leaves, but for some reason that made me scratch my head a bit. I'm not gonna lose sleep over it, that's for sure. As I said, I loved all the great things he said about the program.

Agree.  It was good to see Ben being proactive.  Garcia sounds like a great pick by wojo.  A big man who can dribble, shoot and defend.

I love it when scoopers say "look, I'm not going to try and understand what a 17 year old is really thinking.....they don't know what they want for lunch!"
And then turn around and attempt to dissect and understand each line from the recruits latest interview, in which they say similar things as the hundreds of other recruits before them. So good.

Yeah I asked about him like two weeks ago on this thread. Sounds like Cuse fans think it's them or us for him because of Symir.

In this instance, guilty as charged. I'll try to do better.
