Remember when Herro was committed to UW and him and Johnson were at the same UW camp and took pictures together in UW uniforms?  That one aged well.

Herro's experience at Kentucky is going pretty well and I have to imagine he's enjoying himself.  Even though he'll be gone before Johnson ever plays a game in college, I could see him getting in Jalen's ear about UK.

On the recruiting front.. I hate the new NCAA model relative to D1 coach evaluation periods. I think April 26-28 is the only weekend in the March - May time frame they can view kids. Complete crap.

NY2LA has a tourney that weekend.. but all the shoe co's will be in full force as well. Will be interesting to see who shows up where. Small chance I'll bring my 16U squad to the Quon for that weekend.

The whole thing was a sham when they didn't involve any AAU coaches or shoe company people in the process. Those are people that absolutely matter and should have a voice in the way recruiting in managed.

Sorry to be a wet blanket for everyone hoping Arizona's woes could lead to a change of heart for Mannion, he says he's sticking with Arizona and had "100 percent trust" in Sean Miller (yikes).

That all kinda changes if Miller gets canned though, doesn't it?

It's exciting to learn that Wojo is recruiting a lot of top athletes.  The problem is that it makes us anxious to see them commit.

Exactly. What's he going to say now? I don't have any hopes for getting mannion still but wouldn't mind seeing Arizona's program implode.

Any recruits there tonight? I was thinking there were 2 sitting outside but didn't recognize them. Also definitely saw Danny Ainge there scouting for the Celtics in town

If Gordon Hayward has eligibility we are on him
Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

There's always the possibility he ends up as effective as Quentin Grimes
7.7ppg, 1.8apg, 2to

We wanted him so bad

I'd be ecstatic if we could add Quentin Grimes to this year's roster.

I still want him so bad. He would have looked very good in our back court.

I'm sure you would.

I think it would've made this team worse. He woulda been force fed minutes, woulda pushed Markus off the 1 to the 2 like everyone wanted pre season, and would've made the squad worse imo.

I know, I wanted grimes at MU too, but looking back this team is way better without him. We were all wrong, Marquette is way better w Markus playing a majority of his minutes at the one. Arguing otherwise would be incorrect

I started with "I think"

Makes it an opinion I think?

Honestly tho, he's force fed minutes at Kansas you don't think he would be at Marquette? He would play, and play a lot. In that scenario Markus is pushed to the 2 and everything else follows my opinion, not fact, post

Markus at the 2 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Markus at the 1.

Come on, man.

Markus plays the 1. The bulk of his minutes are at the 1. He thrives with the ball in his hands most of the game like a 1. Sacar plays the 2. He's the worst 2 in the BE according to some, but that's not true. The other starters are the Hausers at the 3,4 and theo at the 5. Unless you think sacar is the 1?

Only spell to Markus at the 1 is Joey. Joey doesn't get a lot of minutes. That's because Markus is a first team all American, and he plays the 1

So, you say Markus is a better 2 than a 1. That in my mind means you think someone like grimes, or chartouney, running the offense and holding the ball most of the time while Markus runs around screens trying to get open would make Marquette a better team?

Well let's just say I disagree. Markus is this teams point guard. Markus is a pointguard. Markus is an all American. Sure some might hate the turnovers and still think he's better at the 2 because he scores, but that doesn't mean some are right.

My point is you take be ball out of his hands and this team is worse, turnovers be damned

I'd have liked Grimes to have gone to MU, and none of us can know if we would have been better or worse with him. I tend to think better because he would have been surrounded by so many great shooters, but I don't know.

But what this does show is that a recruiting "loss," even of a 5-star, really shouldn't (and hasn't) hurt a good program.

Just about any team would have taken Grimes, Quinerly and Langford, but the first guy has been only OK, the second guy rides the pine a lot, and the third guy hasn't been able to lift his team out of a multiple-month funk.

It doesn't mean all 3 weren't worth getting; I'm absolutely not saying that. But there are no guarantees, especially for freshmen. I mean, just a month ago Joey was getting accolades weekly, but real life has given him some rough times lately. I'm still thrilled he's a Warrior and I still think he will be a stud, probably as early as next year. Heck, he could still be a huge impact player for us in March.

He's force fed minutes at Kansas? Who should be playing ahead of him?

The guy would be our second best guard by a wide margin. I'd love to have him here.
