Is it a thing now for an outfit like ballislife.com to do highly produced videos of where kids are going to play college ball?

It's a thing that some (very few) players do. Markus did one when he committed to us.

Yeah, but that was produced by Jordan Howard. I think the surprise is the source as much as anything.

Article on Zeb Jackson from a Buckeye writer. Claims that Jackson plans to commit sooner rather than later.

I found it interesting that the coach called Jackson a pure PG. His video looks more like a SG to me.

Great athlete, long arms, left handed.  His shot reminds me of Nick Van Exel.

Reece Beekman going on official to UVA already did one at Houston. His stock keeps rising.

Would like to get Reece and Desmond in on the same official weekend. The two of them would make an incredible back court.

Actually Beekman's stock has been going down recently. He was in the top 125 for 247 Composite at one point, now he's fallen out of the top 150, currently at #158.

Still a quality player though. He and Polk definitely have high major upside. I wouldn't mind seeing them round out a four man class if we can also bring some studs like the Jalens. I'm not sure that we will get an official visit given that they have taken several unofficials to Marquette. I'm still waiting to see how the new official visit rules will impact recruits.

I ignore the ratings and look at the nature of the offers and the velocity of them. That is what I mean by stock rising and  "recruiting stock is rising" is the words the NY2LA piece uses .

If we got these two extremely talented guards on board, which is doable; we create an instant back court with pre existing chemistry, and solidify our future at those positions .

The bigger pogo sticks are going to be more of a challenge to recruit, but I think having their close friends signed up only helps the cause.

Nature and velocity of offers are new terms for me. But I am sure that the coaching staff has a good idea of where each player falls on their big board. No need to overhype them. If Polk and Beekman are our starting backcourt as true freshmen I will be concerned about the state of our program. If they are backups playing roles similar to what Elliott and Cain did last season then I think we are on the right path. But my true hope is that our program is at a place where players like them could barely get minutes because the roster is so talented....but they stay and get better because they will be at that level as upperclassmen.

By nature I mean quality programs and velocity coming at a frequent pace. An example of the opposite of this would Nobal Days whose has interest at a lower level and the pace of new offers fading.

Also i don't see Reece or Desmond as first year starters as they would still be behind Kobe , Greg and Dexter. However by end of sophomore year they are solid contributors.

Nobal Days plans to make a decision in the next month. I haven't heard us connected to him in a very long time so I doubt we are an option. Seems like a great kid and has some solid rebounding and defensive skills but I don't see a guy averaging 6.8 points a game for a Wisconsin high school making a huge impact at the high major level. He recently took visits to Cornell and Tulane.

I was tempted to post that article, now that you did I will give my view.
Pros
High Quality Young Man
Basketball IQ
Defense and Rebounding
Ideal 13th Scholarship project type player
Cons
2020 Class is loaded with local prospects that we have a real chance at signing
Keep scholarship open for traditional transfer or grad transfer
Keep scholarship for spring signing for late bloomer or special situation kid who was injured during summer recruiting periods.

My take is if he can get an Ivy League offer he should take it and run .
