No news yet on Seth Lundy Penn State official visit. Interesting Scouting Report on Seth:

I don't see any way this isn't an announcement for Penn State.

FWIW (something), Lundy for Team Final in the EYBL this year... 96 ORtg, 22% usage, 47.9% eFG% (28.7% from 3, where more than half of his attempts were from), 9% assist, 20% to.

Thanks for ruining summer, Canada.

Agree.  He will now be classified as another "former MU target".

We can no longer use playing time as a "carrot" for recruits. Wojo & Co. need to put together a solid year and show recruits we're a winning program who can made some runs in the NCAA tourney.

I really believe once MU starts playing at the Fiserv Forum that recruits will want to play there.  Winning should happen the next 2 years, if not, Wojo is gone.  This year
has been a total bust in signing top kids.  It happens, but it better not happen next year.  The amount of money MU spends on recruiting is staggering.  There all over
the place trying to find kids around the country.  Not sure MU sells itself yet,  need some runs in the NCAA for that to happen.  It should happen really the next 3 years
as you can have Theo, Cain, Hauser, McEven, Elliott and Bailey.  That alone is enough talent to get into the tournament.  All experienced players if they all stay.  Get
2 or 3 more and you are alright.

Sure, but this 2019 class is the least I've cared about a recruiting class in ages. An All-American like Mannion, Watts, or Carton would've been great, but everyone else looked like projects on a deep team that has 12 scholarships filled. Guys like Bishop, Lundy, or McKinney would've been nice, but not necessary. It wouldn't surprise me at all if we redshirted Akanno and looked at a transfer for the other scholarship. Either a bonafide grad transfer stud to put us over the top or a sit-out guy who won't eat up minutes on a roster that we'll be hoping can play 11 deep (even if it doesn't go that deep).

2020 will be totally different. We'll lose a lot of meaningful minutes. I'm really hoping we can put together a solid season and have the program trending strongly up after this year so the big fish we are after in 2020 view us as a viable option when next summer rolls around.

https://basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/wednesday-s-leftovers-dishing-on-pitt-st-john-s-alabama-and-more

from Corey Evans:
Rivals150 junior Zeb Jackson narrowed his school list to a group of seven last month, and Michigan, Butler, Ohio State, Marquette, Arizona State, Purdue and Michigan State made the cut. There was talk about an early commitment before even releasing the list, and all signs pointed toward Butler.

Since then, he has backed off such plans and just this past weekend took an unofficial visit to Michigan. Marquette will host him for his first official visit this weekend. However, Butler, Ohio State and Michigan may be the three to beat, and the Buckeyes have picked up some major momentum in recent weeks. I would say that a commitment should be expected much earlier than others in his class.

Funny you say that, the “experts” have disagreed.  But your exactly right, top players want to play for top programs.  Bottom line if we go to ncaa last year we would have had a far more impressive list of signings at this time.  Bank them , go win, recruit good players.

So Nico chose Arizona because they went to the tourney and lost by 20 in the first round to a mid major?

Going to the tournament obviously helps, but it is not an exact science the way you appear to be implying.

Actually it is that simple.  Same reason the schools that go to sweet 16s n final 4s year in n year out continue to battle for the top kids.  Really simple.

Like how the Badgers recruiting hit the stratosphere after back to back final fours?

Winning in the tournament helps recruiting. This is a fact.

Winning in the tournament is not the end all be all in recruiting. This is also a fact.

Everyone can be right.

Prior to their arrival

Mizzou- Michael Porter arrival 17-18.  No tourney since 12-13
Washington- Markelle Fultz arrival 16-17.  No tourney since 10-11
I4- Romeo Langford arrival 18-19. No tourney since 15-16
Texas- Mo Bamba arrival 17-18. No tourney since 15-16
Bama- Colin Sexton arrival 17-18.  No tourney since 11-12

Tourney appearances help, but are not an exact science.

I really believe once MU starts playing at the Fiserv Forum that recruits will want to play there.
Players will want to play in the Fiserv, but I suspect it will have very little effect on recruiting. The BMO Harris Center probably was better than most college arenas, so an upgrade in the arena will not have much effect. It is not like UW going from the Field House to the Kohl Center. The Field House had to have a negative effect on recruiting. The BMO Harris center did not negatively impact recruiting.

New arena will help, but 4ever is correct. Getting guys into NBA is best recruiting tool in the world.
