Well we also don't really get to an all in point on a lot too(which is to be expected).

I'm not complaining. I love the potential of guys like Cain, Elliot and John.

But to take the absolute next step it will be getting these clear top 50 guys...that are not instate with brothers on the team(again not complaining tho).

I do think it's scary what type of recruiting potential Wojo has tho. He's getting high end guys to give us a look and we've got a 10 seed, NiT and 2 nothing's on our resume. Once we start making some noise we may be filling classes with all top 50 guys.

Yeah I think the key is getting his guys older and winning with them over the next couple of years.  If he can develop a winning program, THEN the out-of-state top 50 guys will give us more serious looks.  I mean, it's great to get in these guys top 6 or so, but I just think Wojo is going to fall just short until he wins.

Look at all the work he has done with Jalen Wilson - and they say he's likely going to Michigan.  And I can't blame the kid one bit for making that choice.  Belein can coach.  He's clean.  Michigan is a great school.  And they were in the national championship game last year.

The kid JUST announced a top 6 and has taken none of the 5 official visits yet, to my knowledge.
Let's pump the brakes just a bit on conceding he's going to Michigan.

Indications are he is a pretty big Michigan lean.

Yeah, but once he hits the ice cream truck at MU with none other than the milkman scooping the ice cream, he'll commit on the spot.

I thought this was unofficial, with the possibility of an unofficial to MU as a follow up.

Juan Anderson's Mixtape

A few of crossover recruits with Michigan this year; Wilson, Carton, and Watts.

Hopefully Marquette can pull in 1 or 2.

I feel this will be hard year to sign  a small forward.  They have Bailey, Cain, Sacar, Sam and even Joey back next year.  I am more surprised that
Wojo is not looking at a center to replace Matt.  At least a big body.  Yes, they can play Morrow at center or Joey and play smaller but centers usually take a little time to progress so a year backup behind John would make sense.  Is Eke a power forward or a center?  He might have to
play center to get some playing time in 2 years.  For Eke, this must have been a wasted year, to bad.

I think this might just point to the changing culture in the game, where you are seeing more and more small ball.  Despite only being listed at 6-9, Theo will be one of the "biggest" players in the conference next year, and despite us having significantly more size than we've had under Wojo, don't be surprised if you see a lot of one big, one ball-handler and three others.  I know the term switchable is kind of taboo around here now, but if Sacar, Jamal, and Brendan are all in at the same time, I would expect them to switch every screen.

Yup and I'm not blaming Wojo one bit if he misses out on these two guys.

He's doing a fantastic job getting us an opportunity.

But there is still a next step to take. And if these next two years go well like I think they will then things will get even better

I agree but Wojo is targeting guards and big wings.  Even the new offers are going to guys like Gaffney and Lundy.

It looks like Wojo is looking two years ahead and recruiting replacements for Markus & Sam.

Plus, it's likely a transfer happens.  That's just the reality of the times.  Perhaps Wojo is recruiting a SF to replace the inevitable transfer, then targets a big man in the spring transfer market.

The good news is Marquette is well stocked for the 2019-20 season.  I think the top 7-8 players will be pretty good, even if MU signs no one and loses a transfer or two.

Indeed. The groundwork is being laid. Next couple seasons should be very fun regardless, and the long-term arrow is trending up. Adding guys like this will pour gasoline on the fire

The most likely transfer will be Sacar since he will graduate.  He can easily be replaced if that happens.  Can Cain or Elliott transfer, sure.  Eke
maybe.  The rest I see staying,  Bailey will be to old to transfer.  The rest will see playing time.  Hope they all stay.

The one thing that surprises me is him saying Romeo Langford makes IU more attractive for 2019 players. Does anyone think Langford will be at IU in Fall 2019?

I am enjoying the take going around Buckyville right now that #33 rated DJ Carton was scared that #335 rated Tai Strickland would take all his minutes so he didn't include the Badgers in his final 6.  ::)
