Why so little recruiting news?

1. Shaka plays things close to the vest.
2. We only have two openings for '26.
3. We have hosted a few people for visits already and its probably going to be until the summer for it to all to settle.

Three openings.  One unused schollie carrying over, Chase and Ben graduating.

Obviously I am already counting on the Owen Freeman transfer.  :o

Quote from: Stretchdeltsig on March 05, 2025, 07:58:32 AMWhy so little recruiting news?

End of the year, Marquette coaches are focusing on the tournament instead of recruiting. And recruits are focusing on their own postseason tournaments.

Once the travel circuit starts up in April and May, we will see who the coaches watch.  Which players are the priorities and any emerging targets will become clear.

We'll probably see some more visits over the summer, and we'll also start hearing recruits give their decision timelines. This time of year is always a bit of a lull for recruiting news.

This might be one of the best recruits I've seen in some time.

I haven't been to a HS game since I watched Alando Tucker play for my Alma mater, but I might have to change that if Shaka can pull this one off....

Shades of Kam Jones 2,0 in those highlights on the finishes around the hoop.
Uses both hands with ease, playing amongst the big boys in Chicago.
He's small, but with a few more inches and some size this kid would be a prized cop for Shaka. Really glad he's in early and hope he can pull it off

I looked at Adrien Stevens play for about two seconds and immediately thought he looks like Stevie Mitchell.  I watched him play for a few more and yeah... he's Stevie.

I like it!  Now we have to find our Kam (not seeing it yet, Chase has a long way to go, Lowery has a longer way), Kolek (Sean/James?), Omax (Damarius with more strength?) and Oso (maybe a consistently confident rim running Ben?) and a Big East title awaits.

Lewis/Jop off the bench or starting (Parham?).

I've watched a couple Stevens videos lately. I think he looks more like Vander Blue than Stevie.

Luhi won last night but James didn't play......not sure why.....injury? Illness?  Your guess is as good as mine.

He did make the EYBL all defensive team

He was also the 6th man of the year which aligns perfectly with him as the backup PG for next year.

Backcourt is going to be crazy good defensively.
