So... Kayvaun Mulready... seems like now might be a good time for Shaka to send some text messages.

UNC transfer forward Tyler Nickel has reportedly heard from Marquette. https://twitter.com/JamieShaw5/status/1637896251025784833

Could be a sign that at least two scholarship players will be leaving.

I would imagine Mulready follows Cooley to Georgetown.

Phone call reporting season

Goose

Three observations on the Nickel report:

#1 He was a four star high school player, which is higher than most guys recruited by shaka thus far.
#2 Any concern on how big MU's brinks truck should be lowered a bit. UNC has deep pockets and if MU is talking with the kid, I think they are doing so with an understanding of what the cost would be.
#3 I would not read in that this is because of a potential big departure. MU needs to get bigger and still has too many guards.

Itejere and Ellis are still my best guesses. Great dudes who just fell victim to a loaded roster and injury in Ellis case.

You think NIL is really that big of a factor for a kid that was ranked ~90 out of HS and saw very limited minutes his Freshman year?

I think for the next several years NIL is going to be a big deal because some schools likely will be spend happy. Couple that with a former UNC recruit, I think it does matter. Now, I think the NIL is going to get crazy and only was pointing out that I was happy to see MU reach out to a UNC kid. It very possibly means nothing on the reach out, but it shows MU is not going to be sitting entirely on their hands in the portal world.

It will be interesting on how schools' approach multiyear guys vs. a one-year rental. Multiyear guys only get one chance to make coin, like the one-year guys and do not think they will discount their services because there is no shortage of buyers out there.

Andrew Rohde is entering the portal. I don't know if he'd get enough shots at MU for his liking, but...

Badger.

I've been told by Badger friends (ya I know booooo) that Essegian, Davis, and Hepburn all have interest in testing the portal. I know Davis is not like the other 2 but those are the names they said.

I think Hepburn will end up at Nebraska or Creighton.

Rohde was a high school teammate of Jop.  Big scorer.
The shaka sign, sometimes known as "hang loose", is a gesture of friendly intent often associated with Hawaii and surf culture.

You think they will find a spot on the track team for him?

Would be a weird fit with Nembhard but I can totally see Nebraska.

Essegian to Kentucky is the rumor they are starting.

2024 four-star small forward Sir Mohammed has named his top six schools: Marquette, Oklahoma, Penn State, Stanford, Villanova, and Virginia Tech.

Sir is the son of Nazr Mohammed, an 18-year NBA veteran and former Kentucky Wildcat.

Interesting. In last Rivals update few weeks ago, he fell 19 spots. 54 to 73.

The tweet also states those teams are "as today" and other schools are interested and may change as things go forward. Guess that's a new recruit thing as opposed to "here are my final six".

That's a really eclectic list of schools, without really anything apparent connecting them. Looks like his recruitment is entirely relationship based.
