Heard crean speak at a charity event, he stated going price for transfers is going up 4x the year before. Schools need 2 plus billionaires to compete....

Wasn't an MU target, but top 30 2023 recruit Garwey Dual has decommited from Providence and at this time not following Cooley to Georgetown.

That's ridiculous. Thought it was bad enough that the NBA cherry picks taking the cream of the crop early from college. But now money has grown like a cancer for other colleges to steal the best from each other.  Its sad.

He was a Marquette target, but my guess is he follows Cooley (along with Kayvaughn Mulready).

Saw him play when their high school team played Link Academy in Columbia.  He was going to be an easy one to hate.  Was literally shoving his own teammates in the chest for fumbling rebounds out of bounds.  Every time there would be a timeout and teams would be going to the bench he'd "accidentally" run right through a Link Academy player, etc.

Also saw him.  Liked his game a lot.  He's listed as a SG, but he played the PG for Southern California Academy.  Ran the offense well.

NIL is really uncontrolled and the NCAA was not prepared to implement.   Really could have been done in stages, or use the equivalent of a " salary  cap" for teams so they can decide where to target the NIL money.    But the way it is, the big booster schools will buy their rosters.

I also hate the free market!  Talented basketball players being compensated their market value is a terrible thing.

Juan Anderson's Mixtape

Sir Mohammed or Isaiah Abraham would be great gets as bigger wings.  Mohammed looks like a big 2/3 guard, while Abraham is more of a 3/4.

Kon probably headed to Virginia, or maybe Wisconsin.

Royce Parham and Kany Tchanda appear to be the priorities for the 5.

Bryce Dortch is another name Marquette has been linked to for awhile.  Not sure where things stand in his recruitment.

Shaka should be able to parlay this season's success into a very strong class.  Already off to a good start with Damarius Owens.  I fully expect two more commitments.  Whether it's players turning pro, transfers, or a combination of both, roster turnover is inevitable.  Keep a steady stream of quality high school recruits coming.

We're talking about students athletes who are given scholarships for great educations.

and the funny thing is, this makes it way more likely that guys stay in college longer which is what old heads gripe so much about. it will all sort itself out soon enough, not worried about MU's place in all this

Does the Delt Sig understand that MU basically prohibits basketball players from taking certain majors bc they want their focus and energy on hoops?  Keep the main thing, the main thing.

Free market & capitalism...not a bad concept, ppl should try it.

What would those majors be that MU is prohibiting players from taking?

Engineering for one. Nursing is certainly a second.

I'll let you and Delt Sig huddle up on the rest.

You know of basketball players that intended to be nursing and engineering (and others, allegedly) majors and were told they could not do that?
