Indiana has a black head coach now too!!

Man, I hope we can get this kid.

They do, but Missouri and Oklahoma State are closer to home for him and were in on him before he committed. I'd probably put Indiana 4th on the list.

Bates and Joplin would be huge additions to this class.
Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

Sounds plausible.

I'm guessing Joplin is the new staff's preference and they didn't want two forwards.

With things looking good with Joplin, Charles has to look elsewhere.
Why would they not want two forwards? As of now we have Garcia, Lewis and Oso, who will have to play between them 40 minutes at center. Then we drop to Perez and Dexter.
That is only five frontline players on the team. Three of which barely played last year.

Yes sir. Still praying we get AIdoo too.

Frontline? I think you mean front court and Dexter/Jose are both listed as guards on the official team roster. Not frontcourt players

Meant two HS forwards in the same class.  I expect one HS forward (Joplin) and at least one transfer at forward or center (Gurley, King, Soriano, etc.).

Tyrese Hunter has re-committed to Iowa St.

Michael Flowers to WSU.

Per ESPN:
Flowers said he picked Washington State from a list of schools that included Arkansas, USC, Miami, Texas A&M, Florida, Colorado and Marquette.

Lots of smoke around Justin Gainey landing at Tennessee, and Jonas Aidoo coming along with him.

That would make sense. Honestly, I am more focused on Joplin and Bates assuming Dawson is back. Maybe a transfer big could help as well.

Same here.

Would love Aidoo. But a Bates/Joplin combo has kinda become my priority.
Lazar picking up where the BIG 3 left off....

Juan Anderson's Mixtape

As soon as it became clear Gainey was moving on, I assumed Marquette had no shot with Aidoo.

Need a big from the transfer portal.

Wonder if Shaka is looking at similar package deals to secure some recruits. Seems odd there's 2 positions available without a whisper. Obviously could be trying to hire away currently employed coaches as well.

Their talking with Joel Soriano and EJ Onu (the number 1 NAIA player who had nearly 5 blocks per game)

I see them playing the three. People like to call it a three guard offense, but I am old fashion. You play the three you are a forward. If play center you are not a forward. Listing John as a forward was just plain stupid. He had no forward skills and he played center.

You can call them guards if you want, but then we have only three front court players.

Hmmm, the last transfer from Fordham didn't work out so well.

I thought the same, though Nova's last Fordham transfer worked out pretty well.

JWags85

Oklahoma just offered Aidoo.  Don't expect him to end up there but that would certainly be ironic

JTJ3

dawson stays, add bates, joplin and an impact transfer guard and we're ready to roll.
