TAMU, Knower of Ball

An "insider" on Nebraska's fan board is saying Breidenbach is down to us and Nebraska. Haven't seen that repeated anywhere else. Wouldn't mind him as the third commit for 2020.

I do know, Newsie is right on you knowing ball.

Breidenbach & Holmes would be a great way to round out that class (though I also like Aidoo).

We lured Ed away from NE.  That helps recruiting right?

Wow! Its between Nebraska and MU and according to verbal commits we did not even offer a scholarship that I could see.

Interview with Lucas Taylor.  Seems like a very high quality young guy.

His stock appears to be rising.

Not that it matters much but believe that is Nova's Kris Jenkins'HS and Florida's Mike Miller's HS. Hope MU lands Mintz.

Gonzaga had Terrance Williams as their highest profile player last year, He committed to Michigan. They also had Myles Stute a once MU target commit to Vanderbilt. Recently, just before that, Chris Lykes, Miami, Myles Dread, Penn St., Prentiss Hubb, Notre Dame, all college starters. They get some players. Some have played for Team Takeover AAU.

John Thompson III is an alum.

Jenkins, yes.  Mike Miller, no.  He played for Mitchell HS in Mitchell, South Dakota.

Thank You for the correction. You are right. The Gonzaga HS Mike Miller was Baseball for Florida and was a US Rep for Florida.

Daron Holmes recruiting update:

https://247sports.com/college/marquette/Article/Basketball-recruiting-Arizona-California-Marquette-Dayton-152206410/

"As of now I do not have an exact decision date but it will probably be sometime a little bit after the season," he said. "I want to be able to see how these teams play again and watch all these teams during their season. I want to see the style of play and where I would fit in the best. It's going to come down to that gut feeling. I'm going to keep talking to my parents and coaches about it and see what they think as well. People do say it's your own decision but I'd like to take advice from some people as well."

Marquette: "I went on a visit and really had a great time and they really treated me like family. Coach Woj and the coaching staff are really good as well. They have a bunch of versatile guys and are a really good team in the Big East. There's no football so that means the fans really come to support basketball and it's just a great school all around. They tell me to come in and just get better, learn from day one and thrive in the system. The main thing that stood out was the culture and it was the players. The players are really cool and they didn't treat me like a random kid when I was hanging out with them. They treated me like I was a part of the team. Also the amount they invest in the team from the nutrition, to the gear, and just everything all around. It's fascinating to see. They really take care of their players."

Thank you for posting! Man would it be nice to land Holmes, he's a great basketball player and it seems like he has a good head on his shoulders from everything I've seen

Or a big brother playing in the NBA?
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

Quote from: muguru
No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

zcg2013

Don't see it on here but Lucas Taylor is making his decision next week on 10/9. Most believe he's down to Cincy, Clemson, Davidson, and Marquette.

Did not see that on here either but did see Lucas got a Crystal Ball to Clemson. Hopefully it is wrong. Would love for Lucas to be able to experience Marquette And how basketball players are #1.

He's definitely been a priority of ours. Would love to see him in Blue and Gold. My ideal 3 to round out this class are Taylor, Holmes, and Etienne. That'd be a top 10-15ish type class.

Breidenbach committed to Nebraska. Marquette never officially offered him which is pretty interesting. Wish him the best playing for the huskers

BCHoopster

That might be good news or they are waiting for the spring transfer maket cause they can offer a starting position to a center.

Jake Weingarten spoke with Etienne this week:

He mentioned his recent zooms with Marquette, Miami, and Illinois, and UCLA.

Kentucky is the newest program to reach out to him.

Considers all of the above mentioned schools plus Kansas, UConn, Syracuse, Providence and some others in the mix. He had previously heard from Duke but nothing ever came of it.
