It definitely seems like Holmes and 1 of Etienne/Aidoo is the priority to round out the class. Now that Taylor has gone to Clemson, I wonder if we'll put more into our recruitment of St. John's Military's Brandin Podziemiski. He picked up an offer over the summer and has been playing really well as of late. Could be a good player to stash on the bench and try to develop.

Brandin Podziemski, how can you put more into his recruitment, they offered him a scholarship, he can accept anytime then.  What other schools do you know are
going after him?  More than enough room to pick him up.

Jameel Brown talks MU, recruitment

He likes Marquette's coaching staff and likes how they let their guards play.
He loves Auburn's style of play.
He loves Purdue's coaching staff.
I am pretty sure love is better than like.

True.  But if he likes Marquette's coaching staff and likes Marquette's style of play, and loves Auburn's style of play but hates their coaches, and if he loves Purdue's coaches but hates their style of play, I'd say that MU would be in a pretty good spot.

This is not necessarily a true statement. All an "offer" means is that a program is officially interested in a recruit. Its a mostly symbolic gesture.

Seems like this time every year, we have the same discussion around what the definition of an offer is. The ritual  and balancing act Coaches and Recruits go through is fascinating.

He also likes Auburn's weather.

I think he's better than his ranking but I was definitely not expecting him to pick up an offer from Kentucky. Congrats Brandin!

Podziemski took home the MVP award at the NY2LA camp last weekend. These highlights show why the Cats are interested:

I'm sure a long shot, but Marquette has reached out to Bryce McGowens since the 5-star decommitted from FSU.

Miss 100% of the shots you don't take.

Plus, since it's a long shot, it's and easy win for people who hate Wojo's recruiting to come here and say he can't close.
Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

It is to bad that Wojo can not get kids on campus this year as he has a good nucleus of young players to play with in the future.  Holmes made a good comment about
the family atmosphere and how they take care of the players on campus.  MU was lucky they were able to bring many of the kids they are recruiting in last year, which
could make a big difference.  We will see.

Update on Holmes from Eric Bossi

On Twitter, on the message boards and in my text messages I've been getting lots of questions about four-star forward DaRon Holmes who is playing his senior season at Montverde (Fla.) Academy. He's got a final four of Arizona, California, Dayton and Marquette.

All who have followed the bouncy 6-foot-9 forward know that he spent his first three years of high school in Arizona, so it is no surprise that Sean Miller and the Wildcats are deep in the mix. Marquette is deep in there, too. Assistant Justin Gainey recruited Holmes at Arizona and now he is helping out with the effort to get Holmes to Milwaukee. The Golden Eagles are certainly a viable option. Though he's not set a date, all signs are pointing to Holmes deciding in the near future and I'd expect him to end up headed home or Milwaukee and as far as I can tell it is a very tight race.

Damn.  We'd need this one.  Would be a very good sign.  Thought he was waiting til 2021 to decide.

Don't worry guys, once the ncaa comes down on Miller/arizona last summer, we'll be the leaders.
