Meaningless like most recruiting rankings and preseason team rankings.  Unless a kid is top 25ish and a "can't" miss, mostly meaningless.

Meaningless. So a roster of guys who have an average RSCI of say 30 (all between 26-35) is essentially equal to a roster of guys with an average RSCI 0f 190 (all between 180-200).

LOL.

An appropriately timed tweet from Goodman today.

Jeff Goodman @GoodmanHoops

Sure, let's assess a team on "star ratings." How many stars did Ja Morant get out of high school? How about Jaxson Hayes? How many schools offered Brandon Clarke out of high school? Go take your "star rankings" somewhere else.

You could start a thread to specifically answer this question, rather than posting randomly on unrelated threads.

And no, I don't know the quote you're referring to.

Hold the presses, I found it!!! Under the championship history of the 1974 runner-up team in the Marquette media guide (page 152):

"We'll be back. Not here, but somewhere else in a championship game. This was the wrong place and the wrong time, but we'll be back." Bo Ellis

What you posted was meaningless.  You gave a 247 ranking as a junior, once you get beyond a certain "sure fire" number it becomes meaningless.  How many guys in the 40 to 100 range end up pedestrian....way to many.  Plus there are more than a number of guys 101 to 200 that end up being very good players.  In my opinion.

So no more postings of ranking or stars in the recruiting thread unless the guys are 5 star, top 25, "can't miss" guys because they're meaningless. And to think I was excited about Symir Torrence - thanks for setting me straight.

Cheeks, everything you post is meaningless.   How?   How do you watch pac 12 games?   I don't get it.  Please, tell me.  Cmon guy.  Let's just be honest.

I don't watch PAC 12 games unless they are on ESPN or Fox, or if I go in person to UCLA or USC games...occasionally ASU or UA games live.

Now you have been told, as you asked and I provided.

A few years back I ran the percentage of recruits (based on their final rscii rankings) that were drafted by the NBA.
Plus how many actually hung around the league for a few seasons

RSCII CLASSES 1999-2012
through NBA draft of 2016
rank    drafted   200+games
1-10     87%        65%
11-20    61%        29%

1-10     87%        65%
11-40    42%        19%

as others have said, it really takes a dip once you get past top 30.

That is a tremendous analysis. It further supports the notion that for schools like MU , the need to identify diamonds in the rough and polish them is so critical .
