Kayl Petersen is transferring to Marquette,from Virginia Tech.

The 6 foot Waupun, WI native, was a reserve forward for the Hokies who average 4 points and 3 rebounds per game as a Freshman. 2 and 3 this season. She played in 64 games over 2 season, starting 3. 844 minutes.

She won a Wisconsin D3 High School State Championship in 2022. She was a former top 100 recruit in the 2024 class.

You left out one key point - she originally committed to Marquette but then got out of her letter of intent to follow Duffy to Virginia Tech.

I don't know if anyone posted about Brooklyn Hall's commitment to Marquette, a South Florida transfer. She is arriving sith the new assistant coach after the USF coaching change This was her USF signing:

I'll give you the first two but I'm not sure of what intangibles she provides.  But I wish her the best.  She didn't play a ton at MU and just didn't expect her to end up at a program like Texas.

They like her effort level. The Texas head coach is known for being tough on players. They think she is a fit to be able to handle some of that. Back up center, with physicality, size, and high effort level. They think they can get more out of her than MU did.
