Was it ever confirmed if he tore his ACL or not? If he did then that's pretty cool of the bulls to honor his contract

Yes, but since an NBA team is only allowed to have two on two-way contracts, they are a limited resource.

What was his overall plus minus in the NBA?  I know it would be a limited sample size but I think he gets another shot at some point.  He is a gifted scorer.  Has to be a place for him in the NBA somewhere.

Unfortunate - but prudent by the team.  Why pay a contract for a fringe player when you know he can't play immediately. Although, since they seem committed to helping him rehab - I read that a a good sign that they'd like to give him a chance (again) once he's healthy.
