Might try Wahlburgers today. Any menu suggestions?

Haven't tried their non-meat burgers.

I've tried a few of their burgers but I'd go with one from Dorchester (Dorchestah).  swiss, bacon, mushrooms

All this fish talk got me thinking about Arthur Treacher's. Was a big fan and they had a location by the house that is now closed.  I haven't seen another one in years.

Not a totally unhappy ending, though, as an Arby's replaced it.

Man, I loved Arthur Treacher's back in the 70s and 80s. There was one near my house in the Falls, and I spent many evenings eating their fish. Good stuff.

According to wikipedia, there are now only seven left in Ohio, NY and NJ....

Let me guess: Dayton has one.

Looks like the Ohio locations are Cleveland, Akron and Youngstown.

Fish summit at Arthur Treacher's if MU is placed in Cleveland.

The Arby's of fish?

lawdog77

The article is correct. Little has changed from the 1970's; and that includes the cooking oil.

Amy Schumer aspires to be as funny as WarriorChick. Thus far, she has fallen short.

Pancakes and sausages are one of life's simple pleasures.  And...a married man can get them at home.

I guess that's some consolation for the loss of oral ministrations

Anybody know how to prepare red beets so they don't taste like dirt?

And I'm looking for simple, and mostly just beets...not "try 25 lbs of chocolate chips and 0.0001 g of beet powder." ;)

Cube them up, put olive oil and salt on and broil.  Can also toss in carrots, sweet potatoes, and onions too.  great root vegetable mix.

Thanks for the beet suggestions.

I absolutely hate the taste, but I read that the high levels of nitric oxide can help with high blood pressure. I was skeptical, but my BP wasn't where my doc and I wanted it to be, so I gave beet powder a shot...and it helped a lot. Unfortunately, it still tastes like beets (i.e., dirt). Maybe lots of seasoning will help mask the taste. :(

ok, now that we've got that one covered, if it's the nitric oxide you're after, one minor detail-it also plays a role in the vasodilation of the corpus cavernosum by inhibiting guanosine monophosphate breakdown...in other words...refrain from wearing yoga pants and have a "plan b" ;)
